    Default Crash and too many soldiers in unit

    I apologize if this problem has been addressed before, but my searches didn't turn anything up. I'm playing TATW 2.1 with no sub-mods, having reunited Arnor, and my game is currently crashing during battles but only against one particular Orcs of Gundabad stack. The battle allows me to set up, but once combat starts it quickly crashes to desktop with an unspecified error. I've fought other battles and there's no problem with them, so it's not the usual battle crashes that I've seen in other bug reports and fixes.

    The only unusual thing is that this particular stack has a unit of Marauders with over 350 soldiers in it. When the battle set-ups include the Orc army already present on the field (such as sallying out of a fort) the video is extremely choppy, and this is the only army I have this problem with (other battles with bigger armies run smooth as silk on the highest settings).

    I've tried auto-resolving, but the stack is too big to safely do this and there's really no way I muster the forces necessary to destroy this thing in auto-resolve without also destroying my military and economy.

    Is there any fix for this? Is it possible to just remove the offending unit and see if that resolves the problem? I definitely do not want to restart the whole campaign after successfully restoring Arnor and establishing a firm foothold.

    Any help appreciated!

    Since you said the error only arises when you combat one group of units, try using the "auto_resolve" console command to automatically win the engagement; thus bypassing the error entirely.

    If you don't mind using the "auto-win" command, hit the "~" key before auto-resolving to open up the console box, and enter
    Code:
     auto_win attacker/defender {Depending on the situation.}
    Then auto-resolve the battle. If done correctly, your army should have won the battle and resolved the conflict while avoiding the error.
