Default Danish public prosecutor dismiss mohammed drawings case

Some muslims tried to get the danish court to take legal action against JP

    Here is what he decided.

The danish public prosecutor said that there was absolutly no basis of a criminal case against Jyllandsposten, who published the drawings.

Furthermore he said that religion in Denmark can't expect, not to be criticized and made fun off.

The drawings was clearly within the danish legislation and journalistic ethics.

case closed or they go cry at EU?
The Quran is just a book of fables.

You have a certain mentality, a "you vs them" and i know it is hard to see, but it is only your imagination which makes up enemies everywhere. I haven't professed anything but being neutral so why Do you feel the need to defend yourself from me?. Truly What are you defending? when there is nobody attacking?

Ah yes, freedom ... Holocause denial, which is basically denying that ordinary people died, is a crime. Mocking someone revered as a prophet by more than 1.5 billion people is freedom of speech. Nice.

Not in Denmark, and I know course I'm a dane:original: The neonazist are making there papirs in Denmark: www.dnsb.info

BTW the drawings where made because, in denmark there was a book being made to educate small children about Islam, the book need some drawings, but nobody dared make them because they were afraid of what would happen if they draw them. So JP wanted to test how fare freedom of ekspression goes and made the drawings (the one meant for the original book would ofcourse be more neutral). So they were, in a sense, made to provoke but only so that freedom of ekspression could be tested. So fare it seems like it pasted

thats nothing like the same thing.

Holocaust was millions of people massacred, FACT.

This prophet thing was a joke in a paper..just like muslim mainstream papers that have been making extremely offending (more so than the ones made makign fun of the prophet etc etc) cartoons about jews, america and europe.

Papers in europe dont just make fun of muslims (this is one incident..anti jew/western cartoons that are more extreme in the muslim world are published daily and have been for a long time), they poke fun at a lot of things..its what comedians do, they make fun of things, I dont expect a comedian to poke fun at a guy in the audience then get arrested for it..

Most muslim nations ban the worship of every other religion, infact its a death penalty in some...Denmark and europe as a whole is a VERY FREE PLACE to live.

Unfortunately some people are never happy eh?

You know, holocaust denial and prophet apology, in a sense are similar. In both instances we talk of circumstances where people were killed...

Now, for as much as religion requires respect, if some items cannot be criticized, this will make for an interesting world, with great imbalances.

There's a difference between criticism and making fun. This was the later. It was a cheap attempt by a Danish newspaper to make money. However, those responsible for the reactions were using the catroons to gain political support and they're just as bad as the publisher himself.

Coming back to the topic, I personally criticize a lot of things about religion, the existance of God and everything else in between but making catroons and openly throwing mud on someone is not constructive criitism but an open invitation to enmity.

But since freedom of speech does not exist in all of the EU, it's absurd to play that card in this case. I personally believe that the cartoons should have been printed but a few million don't agree with me. What pisses me off is why and how a lot of people are defending this with the freedom of speech trump card while jailing people for denying the extent of the holocaust.

The Austrian law is made to prevent subversive nazist movements in a country which has been governed by Nazis. It has nothing to do with holocaust assertion or denial, or any opinion, but with political order.

The fact is that law protects people from being persecuted for their opinions, whatever you may think about this. And this law should not and will not be changed. You may disagree as long as you do it peacefully, but it is their full right to make fun of religion. Out of place? Perhaps. Ineducate. Maybe. But they must be allowed to do it.

The publisher is not bad at all. Use your morals to govern your actions, not those of other human beings.

I didnt know that disagreeing with car bombing, train bombing, plane crashing, feminine mutaltian and subjugation were 'making fun.' I thought they were criticisms of extreme Imam views. Which is exactly what the 'angry mohammed' pic displayed. Notice the hooded women to his right, sword on his left.

to the holocaust denial and imprisonment. You can always combat stupidity with intelligence. Because someone says it didnt happen doesnt mean it didn't.

I too thought the one about ' were all out of virgins.' was funny. If you cant laugh at serious things, then you need to learn. like the super freinds episode on south park. Funny.

The cartoons was nothing more than a stupid attempt to **** muslims off (which they succeded in), clearly a misuse of freedom of speech.
I defend freedom of speech, but everyone must admit that this was bad use of it.

Freedom of speech cannot be misused, if not by encouraging violence.

if the freedom of speech is not used responsibly and just to create unrest and offend a huge group of people and make profit out of it than it is misused or abused. those cartoons should not be forbidden no. but those responsible for the cartoons lowerd themselves in the eyes of those who respect the freedom of speech as priviledge and not a green card for polemic.

we europeans are used to make fun of all religions and i personally dont care about it. i even like the humor that is closest to offence.
but in times like these where the muslims in the world feel mistreated and disrespected by the west for many reasons its just not smart apropriate or simply right to put oil in the fire just by printing stupid jokes.
they could have said right after "sorry we didnt expect the reactions, we want to apologize to the offended muslims" no big deal.
but no one has to make a huge thing out of it. now ppl run around in the forum with silly FREEDOM OF SPEECH banners as if the freedom of speech was attacked at any time. the only thing was attacked is lack of sensibility and creating of unrest and abusing the freedom of sppech for cheep jokes.

Responsibility is a subjective criterion, and has nothing to do with law. You cannot state what someone else should say or not. That is totalitarianism and tyranny.

To cultivate responsibility, a good education of youth is required, not law.

Your ethics and your morals do not apply to anyone but you. Tyranny is infact sometimes just the act of trying to apply them to someone else.

Our new Primeminister? We havn't gotten a new Primeminister since 20. november 2001, reelected 4 years later. So what "new" Prime minister are you talking about?

And what "camps" are you talking about? Give me some info about the camps you are talking about please course I sure as h*** havn't seen anyone of them!

Basicly, to be honost and no hard feelings, most of what you said about thoes "camps" and "new Primeminister" is NOT true.

as for cartoons, its funny when religous people from one religon mock other religoun
