A bomb's a bad choice for close-range combat.
OK, went on google - entered: "superaftion"
and let's see where the only valid link has taken me:

I know - i just wanted you to do the least thing that is required to get answers.
OK here we go;
a superfaction is something like spqr faction which can send you out for senate missions etc.
Now there are three minor factions to that superfaction - Julii - Brutii - Scipii
whenever one of those minor factions becomes enemy to the superfaction, the others
will go to war with it.
It's nothing important other than technical stuff if you're trying to mod the game or so.

Also "Superfaction" might refer to a really large ( and usually unplayable) faction in a mod that represents an entire people and not necessarily one tribe/faction/empire etc.
I think you mean "culture" - nah - superfaction refers to that spqr thingy so that a faction can have control over others.

Not really control over others - superfaction in the smallest sense of the word causes the superfaction and its subfaction(s) to never go at war with each other (unless you code in the Civil War for them, of course. If you assign the superfaction thing to a non-Roman faction, they'll never go at war because they can't have a civil war). The superfaction will also not expand, as seen with the SPQR in vanilla.

I gifted few settlements to SPQR, saw them grow to enormous sizes.

That is indeed the tendency of the superfaction AI. The Pope in MedII does it too; the superfaction doesn't expand unless they gain settlements artificially. When that happens, their inactivity suddenly switches "off" and they become murdering monsters, misusing their superfaction power (especially the Pope; he just conquers and excommunicates everyone in his way)
Yea only thing that arises to my mind from that is "roflstomp"
I think someone has a great example of the pope misusing his powers, papal apocalypse aar familiar with?
EDIT - Yep roach i read it and had great time. Im thinking of making a similar one for vanilla.

Yeah i was pissed with France once and donated all settlements bordering to their last province to the papal states.
They went WH40K on the continent. i lold from my island as overzealous armies, excommunications, inquisition and suched so many countries.
In my first game ever as the julii i gave SPQR Salona and then all hell broke loose.I mean literally, they conquered Gaul,Spain and Illyria! Bit annoying in the end because I had to retake all those settlements
Supefaction? In Vanilla, all Roman factions.

Lol yeah
Bull3pr00f, i gotta ask you something, how do you gift settlements to SPQR? They refuse every time i try to.
EDIT - Oh, and sicily attacked rome and angered the Pope
So now hes at rampage and killing people at will. I also gifted antioch to him, but the old bastard captured five settlements more in holy land and THEN lost it all to egyptians and turks.

Maiar,in RTW SPQR won't accept territory, you have to sell it to them. Every time I tried to gift a settlement they said "we cannot accept such a gift,...." or something like that. Just sell a territory for 5000 or something like that, couldn't be too hard
