How to make screenshots?

Sorry for posting it here, but I still can't find the question thread.

when I make a screenshot, I get a black background and the bar at the bottom of the screen (the one with the "start" button and such.) Does anyone know how to fix this? I'll post a screenshot later to show you the problem

i dont know what is the best way but i do it as with all other programs
i press prntscrn which has the effect you described
than when im out of the game i open paint
and paste the picture

You could also press the PrtScr button ingame and a .tga file will be saved in your Medieval II Total War\tgas folder

(I use Photoshop to open the .tga file)

anyway, i have .tga screenshots but i cant open it (at least, windows photo viewer and picture manager can't)
i tried to paste in paint but still no result

how can i make them as usual pictures?

You'll need a program like Photoshop i order to open them.
I think Gimp can open them too.
