    Default LMW 2.0 and NTW3

For folks like me who like LME but are intrigued by the Lordz' NTW mod...

I have stripped down a three of the Lordz' files and am using them as mini mods, using the experience, fatigue, morale, rules and movement modifiers. I am also using the sound effects which I think are a blast (literally). I'd recommend giving that a try to those who know how to strip down the mod files - it makes for a very different battle speed and experience... in short, I find battles MUCH more difficult to win.

    See new thread for mod:

Hmm,this does indeed sound intriguing.I will give it a go.I also find it much better to the experience to edit the save file and allow for many mor eunits per stack(using 40) rather than oversized units.it is really a different experience and honestly the AI seems to handle it better.

Mmmm. I have not worked out how to do that. Can you write a note here to show how that's done?

I play the Lordz multiplayer and I feel they have the best, most realistic battle mechanics out of any mod, however their campaign is still in alpha stage. I was wondering if you could post these stripped down files as a kind of battle submod for LME, because my modding ability is very limited but I would love to play the campaign game of LME with the excellent battles of NTW3. Thanks for this good idea.

In order to have more than 20 units in a stack, here is a thread from the NTW3 section with instructions:

Indeed the above link will do it and it works wonderfully.why this hasnt been stickied yet is beyond me seeing it is a huge breakthrough we all or at least mostly all have been wanting for years.the ai handles it much better than oversizes units and the battles play out at a much larger scale featuring plenty of maneuver and assault...if you ask me the ai is able to handle itself better actually as well as recruiting right up to the max.

Please take care to get permission from the mod-teams to use some parts of their mods if you bring them out as a submod... (its only a hint for you to avoid troubles)

I hear you. No worries - I don't do minimods these days, it's just for my use - although I am happy to share with friends, .

    Ok then.

I have shared the stripped down files with Leoben, Icebear, Chevalier IX, Bassguitar and Jbet. Perhaps they'd like to share their views here? I am very concious that the files may be "stripped down" but they originate from NTW3 and I don't want to infringe upon anything or anyone's rights or feelings and issue it for general release without their permission etc.

That said, if the above folks like what I did with the files, perhaps we might ask NTW3 to allow us to make a mini-mod for general availability. With that, I will let the above people speak up...

lol, I was testing it but was surprised as the troops seemed to never get tired which didn't mirror my NTW3 experience... I had forgotten all the ";" for the NTW3 packs in my user script, that's why! Now that's some testing! :p

About the BAI, I think we could get a decent SP experience by trying to combine those elements:

    - The UAI, obviously, although maybe we should try without it to see the difference with the other elements.

    - The 20 to 40 (or more) units tweak, as it seems that the AI handles it well, while the player will have more things to monitor, making the task more difficult for him. Chevalier IX, I can't wait for your submod!

    - The stripped down files of NTW3, because fatigue kicking in sooner makes it so that the player cannot just move his cavalry from one side of the battlefield to the other side without tiring his men.

    - The "fog of war" of NTW3 could be really helpful too, as it makes it harder for the player to predict the AI movements (except when the AI starts running at the beginning of the battle, of course).

    - Maybe some new BAI modifiers with the files CA has just released?

Anyway, I'm going to try properly this mod first before trying the 20 to 40 units one for instance. This time, I've set up my user script properly... I think. :p

Btw PDGuru, I think you should contact Desaix about using NTWIII files. I'm sure he won't mind about this mod as long as credit is given to NTW3, which is already the case here.
