Excellent work man! I've been waiting for one of these+rep
Nice map - just one thing; could someone rename the thread title into something like: printable (instead of paintable)
I mean the map has been paintable since it's been there.
+rep for the map

I see the map is so great, could you please show me the link to download that patch to print map out?
Hi, everyone. I decided to add the legions to this lovely little map.

I'm fairly sure it's accurate, but please let me know if you do find any errors in terms of each legion's AOR.
Yeah, it was hard picking colors that would stand out well against all the backgrounds. For the most part it doesn't matter to me where the legion AORs are when I'm just glancing at the map, and I can zoom in a bit when I want to check that.
I guess black might be a good option, then I'd change the background for the legend at the bottom to something lighter.
p.s. It's a shame some of the letters and numbers enclose a small area. When you change a region's color, any of the following will retain the original color inside: A, D, P, R, 6, 8, 9. A is kind of annoying if you're nitpicky like me, because it's only a two-pixel area, and there are lots and lots of them. Two possible options to prevent that: make a hole in each so the bucket will fill it in. Replace them with another symbol.
Wow, very nice. Some rep for you.

Have a look at the map in the -Improtant_Stuff\AOR_Maps directory. All settlements named and where Legions can be recruited. Some corrections have been made for the next patch, but its very good as is.

Do you mean "the next patch" as in 2.5b, or there will be even more changes once it's no longer a beta but 2.6 or whatever?
I'd like to know what the corrections are, or how to figure that out myself. I'm fairly clueless about modding and such, so I'd appreciate the help. I'm assuming I need to look in the Rome 1-turn data folder rather than the main data folder (because I'm guessing it overrides anything from the main data folder, which the game would otherwise use). In there I've found data\export_descr_buildings. That shows the legions can only be built if they are in a certain area and have certain resources (and of course which building is required). Okay, so then I'm assuming I'd compare that to this file: \world\maps\base\descr_regions. That looks like it identifies the areas and resources for each city. If I cross-check those, that would give me the correct legion AORs, right?
Fantastic.
Well, no replies yet.... Hopefully I didn't mess it up this time. Here are the changes:
1. Some additions: Virodundon has Germanica, Damaskos has Gallica, Lilybaeum has XI Claudia, and Camulodunon has Gemina M.V. and Valeria Victrix.
2. Instead of Ferrata and Adiutrix, Docidava has Macedonica.
3. Changed some from hamata to segmentata: Macedonica, Victrix and Apollinaris.
4. Different colors, so the tiny print will stand out a little better -- Carthaginians and Seleucids are slightly darker too
5. Made gaps in the letters and numbers, so areas inside them will be filled along with the rest of the region.

Really nice work. Which font did you use?
