    Default Amazing Mod!

Title says it all!! Good job guys!! The graphics are just...breath taking! When the flaming arrows started flying I stopped paying any attention to the battle...

A long time TW player here who has a few (hopefully minor) questions that I couldn't find the answers to. It has been a while since I played RTW ([MTW2 SS] -- junkie for the past few years) so some things here are confusing.

    1. Is there a button to show all your units on the battle map (like the green circles blinking under them in MTW). The reason I'm asking is that it was extremely confusing saying who is who when the melee commences.

    2. What is the 0- or 1- turn campaign? Does it have to do with the recruitment? As a follow-up on this one, you can recruit only 1 unit per turn even though units (or buildings) are colored red when you click on them, correct?

    3. Why, oh why is the cavalry so weak?!? Worse still, why are the generals even weaker
    [CW] Zero Kelvin [in progress]
[MTW2 SS] Weder heilig noch Römisch [on a ridiculously long hiatus]
[RTW RS] My dearest Clymene [a single-chapter commemoration]
[RTW RS] The enemy of my enemy [suspended]
[MTW2 SS] Snakes in the sands [suspended]
[MTW2 SS] Omnes viae Romam ducunt [suspended]

If you're in a 0-turn campaign you can tell how long a unit takes to build by mousing over it in the recruitment option.

There are extremely strong cavalry units in game, if you're playing as Rome it may be a while before you see them, but if you upgrade your barracks in Capua you are able to recruit Campanian Cavalry that is sufficient for shock cavalry, not as strong as other factions, but better than the Equites and Latin Medium Cavalry in that regard.

Vanilla had horribly overpowered cavalry, this has been corrected in RS 2, leaving ap cavalry in melee does not work anymore .

Cavalry ain't made to sit in battle fighting, they're made to charge in while the infantry have them pinned. Used wisely, cavalry are immensely powerful.

That's not quite true, at least not for all cavalry. Heavily armored cavalry did fight in melee and did not charge.

Yea vanilla the cavalry are so OP. I remember doing a campaign with Carthage and I had probably around 75-80% round shield cavalry and just a couple infantry to operate rams and successfully conquered Rome in a very short amount of time... (obviously by the time I hit Capua and was going to Rome I was using slightly better units... but still mainly cavalry)

I'll admit though, it's funny to group of 7-8 cavalry units on your two ends and just pincer the enemy army.... they break instantly... but yea OP...

I kinda disagree with the statement that heavy cav did not charge - do you think that the cataphracts were made to stay in melee and be taken down with hooks and stuff,or that light cav is supposed to go toe to toe with heavy infantry - no.Cavalry was always the smashing power ,they were supposed to deal the finishing blow to an enemy army by charging into the flangs and back of the enemy, routing them and winning the battle.

What do you base that on? Total War experience?

Cataphracts were too heavily armored to go for a long charge. Horses are powerful, but not that powerful. Don't forget they were smaller than modern horses as well. You and your horse(!) are not armored to be in the melee for 20 seconds and then turn away. You're armored to fight and defend yourself in battle. Somewhat lighter, "medium" cavalry is good for charge and withdraw.
    Vale,
