Default Breaking up alliances between AI factions.

Since turn 15 gaul and the roman factions have been allied, united in their war against me. The problem is I am playing macedon on VH/VH so in the beginning of the game I made it completely impossible for the brutai to take any of my neighboring cities.

The brutii AI kept sending his family members untill one turn where I managed to destroy their navy transport and his family members died on my walls..his cities turned rebel and the faction was defeated. Now the scipii wanted to do the same thing, so I took a couple of boats and a stack of elite army and took all of their cities untill the faction was destroyed. But now the julii want to repeat the same thing trying to land stacks on my shores and attacking my cities, while on every other campaign where you start far away from them so they get to expand (brutii) they start kicking ass in northern/mainland europe and half the map turns red.

Now the julii have only 3 cities, they are allied with the gauls (both of them are attacking me) but the julii are superweak and because of their alliance refuse to expand northwards, they are bent on attacking just me.

I offered the senate 100k for a ceasefire, offered the julii 100k for a ceasefire, offered the senate another 200k to get him to attack the Gauls (maybe breaking up the julii alliance that way) but they refuse to, even when offered 1000k. I tried giving the julii all of the scipii and brutii cities I had taken but they just attacked me the next turn.

TLDR: Is there a way to force AI factions to war or to break their alliances? I don't care if it is a cheat/mod or .txt edit. I just want the challenge of fighting huge stacks of elite roman armies now that I own half the world instead of just right clicking the barbarian hordes and just staring on my screen a few units of companion cavalry kill an entire army..

Well if possible, you can make diplomatic relations with Gaul? Asking them to attack the Romans instead in return for money perhaps?
Or you could even just beat the hell out of them and make them become your Protectorate, if not just keep asking them to turn on the Romans.

It seems that you want the Julii to build themselves up, then have a full fledged war with them? If that's the case, give away all your cities bordering the Julii, or even near, and start expanding the opposite direction. Eventually, they will stop attacking you and start spreading to the north.

I had to do what you told me to Andrew, made the game much harder as I just went into Pontus with 3 stacks (they own half the map!) and just having Rhodes as my only settlement, giving everything else to the romans. That was fun

Theres another method but its slower.

Make 3-4 of ur assasins very skilled then send them to kill generals and family members on the border between roman's and gauls aslong as ur assasins dont get caught they suspect eachother and eventually one of them probly the gauls will brake the treaty and attack.
I am the shadow, and the smoke in your eyes I am the ghost, that hides in the night.

We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France,
we shall fight on the seas and oceans,
we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be,
we shall fight on the beaches,
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
    we shall fight in the hills;
    we shall never surrender.

    " The dark is generous.
Its first gift is concealment: our true faces lie in the dark beneath our skins, our true hearts remain shadowed deeper still. But the greatest concealment lies not in protecting our secret truths, but in hiding from the truths of others.
The dark protects us from what we dare not know.
Its second gift is comforting illusion: the ease of gentle dreams in night’s embrace, the beauty that imagination brings to what would repel in the day’s harsh light. But the greatest of its comforts is the illusion that dark is temporary: that every night brings a new day. Because it’s the day that is temporary.
    Day is the illusion.
Its third gift is the light itself: as days are defined by the nights that divide them, as stars are defined by the infinite black through which they wheel, the dark embraces the light, and brings it forth from the center of its own self.
With each victory of the light, it is the dark that wins.

The dark is generous, and it is patient.
It is the dark that seeds cruelty into justice, that drips contempt into compassion, that poisons love with grains of doubt.
The dark can be patient, because the slightest drop of rain will cause those seeds to sprout.
The rain will come, and the seeds will sprout, for the dark is the soil in which they grow, and it is the clouds above them, and it waits behind the star that gives them light.
    The dark’s patience is infinite.
    Eventually, even stars burn out.

The dark is generous, and it is patient, and it always wins.
It always wins because it is everywhere.
It is in the wood that burns in your hearth, and in the kettle on the fire; it is under your chair and under your table and under the sheets on your bed. Walk in the midday sun, and the dark is with you, attached to the soles of your feet.
The brightest light casts the darkest shadow.

The dark is generous and it is patient and it always wins – but in the heart of its strength lies its weakness: one lone candle is enough to hold it back.
Love is more than a candle.
    Love can ignite the stars."

Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end.

    You began the war.

I am going to end it!

I don't think that works at all Where did you read that?

Or you could just use a mod I made significantly rebalancing the units using Europa Barborum's basis. Fights will last longer, and will be alot harder using them, exactly what I like.
The Egyptians are underpowered though because the ancient Egyptians everyone knows didn't exist at this point, but those nubian spearmen will kick your derriere if you're not careful. Take Egypt out fast!
Also, for those of you who haven't played Europa Barborum, take Macedon out fast with this one. Those pikes, if not controlled, can become major trouble.
If you want, I can go ahead and send you the text file. I'll go ahead and give you the hidden treat: with this mod, if you play as the scythians, romans (they get pretty much everything, don't they?), or the greek cities (it is from them we get the amazon myth), you can get Amazons into your own forces. However, you'll have to get a diplomat to Themiskyra fast, use the add_money cheat to give yourself like 100000 denarii, bribe the amazons guarding the town and the town itself, and boom, you've got amazons. Use add_money cheat and process_cq cheat, build the town up high, turn it into a rebel settlement, then bribe it using add_money again. You've got even more Amazons. Repeat at your desire. :-)
