    Default Historical Army Compisition

    hello,

    I like to try to be histoical when I play RTW and BI. That odviously dousn't mean historical expansion for most facitons(Roman Historical expanison ) But I like to use historical armies.( I use it as one of my house rules) I was hoping I could start a thread based off of the one here at the RTR forums. But this one would be for the BI time period. So, Seeing as I do not know much about this time period, I was hoping that the people on this forum could help me out. I would like historical army composition, as well as any mods that will make the game more historical.

    Please do not post comments other than the army composition
    Mods are also welcome

    ( 1 ) Factions Completed

    Facitons done: Western Roman Empire

    Factions still to be completed: Eastern Roman Empire, Sassinids, Berbers, Huns, Lumbardi, Burgundi, Alemanni, Roxilanni, Slavs, Goths, Ostogoths, Vandals, Celts, Saxons, Romano - Brittish, Sarmatians

    Mods that make the game more historical are also welcome. Give us the name, a link to the download, and a short description(as in changes done to game).

    MODs that make the game more historical:Invasio Barbarorum-Flagellum Dei v5.0,

    Please check before you post and see if the army you are doing has already been taken. If you have a different composition of the same army you may post it. Historical Resources are always welcome.

    PM me if you have suggestions.

    Thanks,

    Remus

    i like to use:
    General or good cavalry unit for commander
    9 legionary cohorts and one first cohort
    2 archers and 3-4 siege
    1 skirmisher and the rest cavalry, or no skirmisher and one more cavalry

    or, if you want more....
    in one army have general and 6 cavalry, and about 10 legions with auxillia support and maybe some skirmishers, plus add anything else you want
    in a second army, archers and tons of siege equipment with support auxillia with anything else you want to fill it up with

    These are all historically accurate with one or two exceptions. Keep the two armies marching next to each other so you can use both in battle.

    @legionary_102

    What faction is that for? I am asuming western Roman empire... Please tell us the faction you are talking about before you post.

    @Ramon G.

    I have one question. Will that mod work with the Rebel Commander mod? I like to use that mod because it allows me to play the emerging factions as the... emerge I guess. It allows you to play the Romano brittish, Slavs, ostogoths, WRE Rebels, and ERE rebels.

    Thanks guys,

    Remus

    Thanks for clearing that up

    @Veresov

    Please do not use this thread for questions like that. PM the person, this thread is for HIstorical army composition. And if you want to make the game harder develop a system of rules to limit your self against the AI. That is what I do and it makes the game much more challenging.

    The Invasio Barbarorum mod gives more realistic units for the Western Romans, eastern romans, sassanids, celts, saxons, and franks.

    thanks Imperator. I forgot to say to give a short description of the mod. we would also like historical composition.

    The reason that I am doing this thread is so I can start a BI AAR. It will be my first one. I would like to do a Romano-Brittish one. One of the house rules that I will use will be to use historical armies. I will also do other factions like slavs and ostogoths later. I would like to use historical armies for those factions as well.

    Thanks,

    Remus
