    Default royal weddings

Is there any way your heir might inherit a foreign throne when he's married to a foreign princess? The advisor mentioned this possibility of claiming the throne, but the other nation was just destroyed when their king died with no heirs, I didn't get their lands.
Also, the princess is called dead in the family tree, but she is still breeding children!
Anybody with some experience in this field?
    (it's not a modded version)

I've not got any experience with necrophilia, no...

Also, I have to admit I did get a little excited when I read the thread title and thought there would be pictures of Kate and Pippa...now I'm just sad.

My experience tell me that when faction is destroyed all princess die. When I played as France I try same, with Danish princess. I noticed that prince Charles died and I saw Ingrid right next to him, alive. I offer her marriage alliance, she accept. After some time, King Kund (sp.?) died, probably natural. What happened? His city become rebel.
Second time, when I played as England, my prince Rufus was unmarried for a long time. HRE was attacking me, so I offer marriage alliance with Agnes. After she bore 4 kids, I destroy HRE. Agnes died when I destroy HRE.
I never have necrophilia case, that sickness me.

4 is the maximum. My heir had 2 kids at the time, next turn, a third was born. No doubt he's a bastard, but still, it puzzles me.
The main question is still: why didn't I inherit the other nation through the princess married to my heir, even though according to the advisor, the wedding gives rise to a potential claim.

I've always wondered why the M2TW "marriage alliance" function seems to be far less effective than is expected...

But then it was 'Vanilla' and to be frank...well, I'd rather not be frank!

Maybe it's a silly idea, but might it have anything to do with the fact that he was still my heir at the time he would have inherited the foregn throne, and not my king? Perhaps only kings can inherit nations?

EDIT: I quickly experimented, and even with your king married to a foreign princess, you still can't inherit her nation if her family is extinct. The king is also still producing heirs with her even though she's supposed to be dead.

I don't think inheriting another faction is possible in M2TW/Kingdoms under any circumstances.

Inheriting another faction was a feature in MTW that never made it to RTW or M2TW.

in RTW, it's obvious because of the way diplomacy was done, but the advisor mentions it in M2TW and it would be historically accurate

I played as England and married France's Constance to Rufus. After that I destroyed France. Constance was still alive and well though.

So she should be. A faction loses only its own agents when it is destroyed, and when that French princess was marrying your heir, she became part of your faction instead.

hold your cursor over her in the family tree, it should then say she died the year the faction was destroyed
