    Icon4 Fix CTD after battle or loading saves

    Hi, comrades!

    Many players complain about the CTDs after a battle or when loading saves. Comrad Julius from Imperial forum http://imtw.ru/ offered a temporary but very effective solution.
    His established that the cause of CTDs - a glitch with the quotas. He removed all the quotes and left only one. CTDs is stopped. I myself played a couple of days and had not a single CTD after many battles. Neither RS2 nor in Europe Barbarorum (very,very crashing mod!). I suggest this as a temporary solution - until we find the cause of the bug.

    OK, that's bizarre! What in the world would they have to do with it I wonder?

    And welcome back, friend. Good to hear from you, and thanks for the tip.

    Hey Chernish

    Glad to see you back .. thats really weird if thats whats casuign the CTDs. I just thought it was basically ram leakage - rigth now ALex will eat up approx 3.7GB of free RAm and then CTD but thats usuallly if ive left the game play for a couple of hours. Other than that I've yet to get a CTD like it used to before and actually I think BI's even more stable but thaks for the heads up on that wee fix esp if it does fix the prob !

    Cheers

    Hi Chernish,
    Interesting finding!!

    Did your comrade get anywhere with the leader portraits and getting those into the game?

    Just one request, chernish...please don't post everything you see in here on the imperial forum. That was one of the terms of access to the beta.

    I read this here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=179580

    ***GOOD RULE OF THUMB****Never change anything in brackets.
    There are two ways the number is listed, like this
    {Quote_1} OR {quote_80}
    The second line is the quote itself.
    Here is where you can copy and paste the quote that you want included in the game. But make sure it is not too long, becaus ethere are hardcoded limits. The limit is three lines.
    In the first case however, there is an additional line that is not used in many other quotes. When a quote is not in English, it MUST HAVE A TRANSLATION LINE like this:
    {quote_80}
    Veni, vidi, vici
    {trans_81}
    I came, I saw, I conquered
    If the quote remains not in English and without a translation it will cause the game to crash, lag, etc. I learned this the hard way.
    Finally, there is the author. In the easiest but longest way to edit quotes you must do the following. but ONLY IF IT IS A QUOTE BETWEEN 1 AND 77:
    -Edit the quote and remember its number

    I went thru that tutorial with a fine tooth comb yesterday, and checked our files line by line, and I can find nowhere where we made a mistake. Non-english quotes are translated, and everything seems in order according to that guide. However, we do use 30-some loading screens (well over 19)....yet Chernish says the CTD after battles is gone regardless.

    I'm inclined, for the sake of stability and the annoyance of that CTD, to blow these quotes away and try this to see if in fact it does solve the problem. I can live without the quotes if the CTD is gone.

    Yes, I checked english version too and have the same result. But for russian translate these reason is really thruth. And - RS2 have not 77 quotas but much more.

    Until after the installation mini-fix I have not had CTD after the battles at all

    The reference to this:

    Fault Module Name: d3d8.dll

    Indicates a video memory issue. I think Tone is right.

    It's the .dll that gets changed for the bloom effect.
