Why isnt it working

okay so i haven't played midevil 2 in a wile but irecently heard of a mod called third age total war so i started playing it and every time i enter a battle i see half the landscape my army and a huge black rectangle then it says it encountered a unspecific error and will now exit so i uninstalled it and tried playing vanilla it did the same thing i tried every expansion and the only one i can play is Americas can someone tell me how to fix it

I don't know, try reinstalling the game maybe and if your using vista or windows 7 try running the installer as an administrator. Really though you should post this in the technical help section those guys can give you way better advice then i ever could

Follow my install instuctions and it should work fine but make sure you uninstall everything first before reinstalling here is the link
