Yes, in the IB2 Britanniae mod children not of age yet can be the heir even with other family members, same if you adopt as well and when they come of age they get the ancillary.

The Rus' family tree is messy, messy, messy. I'm trying to stay historically accurate but replicating this family in game in two different factions is not going to be easy. Here, I made a little tree for you so you don't have to go hunting around on 50 different Wikipedia pages like I did to find out who's related to who (that was fun):
    Family Tree

TECHNICALLY, the vanilla game got it all wrong (not surprising). The "Russia" faction represents the Grand Duke of Kiev at the time, Vsevolod, and his family (albeit not entirely accurately), while the prince of Novgorod (which is where the "Russia" faction is centered) was Sviatoslav, Vsevolod's brother. Basically, the three brothers: Vsevolod, Sviatoslav, and Izyaslav, were fighting each other from 1072 on about who would be the Grand Duke. Izyaslav died in 1078, Sviatoslav was Prince of Novgorod until Vsevolod (Grand Duke of Kiev) died in 1093.

Not sure how I'm going to proceed with this yet. Kiev is definitely on my list as being a potential new faction (not in the first release, obviously), so I'm thinking the vanilla "Russia" faction will be my Novgorod. What do you guys think?

EDIT: Also I did a little more map work. First, I added the Limfjord to Denmark and basically just cleaned up the nearby islands. Also, I did some re-arranging in Anatolia, I incorporated Selefke into Cilicia and added the settlements of Sivas and Erzerum (the other extra region was from Ireland).

Make "Russia" as Novgorod and add Kiev.

    Suggested factions
    • Cuman Khanate
    • Norway
    • Crusader States/Kingdom of Jerusalem

That's what I was thinking too, Polycarpe.

Cumans - maybe, would probably look at borrowing some stuff from R&P mod.
Norway - its on my list
Crusader States - I guess I would have to make them some sort of emergent faction? Since the mod starts in 1080, if a catholic faction captures one of the levantine cities then KoJ pops up? I dunno if its possible to script that.

And a sneak preview of final Iberia:

Question: How have you developed this mod so quickly? I am amazed as to how fast this mod has progressed. It shows your very committed to the project.

Are you on holidays/have lots of free time?

Haha well it is summer break, so I have a lot more time than usual, yes. But I also am indeed very committed to this project, and I really do love modding, so I'm very engaged in getting as much done as possible.

I'll be the first to say that there's a lot more to do with this and a lot more things I'd like to implement, but right now I'm still in the zone of work where I can pretty much do everything myself, but that time will soon run out.

man i'm excited on the new factions you will include , I'm sure you can add new music, and with permission from mods you can add new units. though I believe you need support in scirpting

Wow mate, this map is probably the best I've seen for a vanilla based one, accurate settlement names, population and many regions.

To answer your question regarding KoJ, yes it's possible to make a script like that, a complex one bt still doable.

    Other suggested factions

    Georgia
    Armenia
    Lithuania
    Abbassid Caliphate.

    1. Definitely add Norway
    2. Wales/Ireland??
    3. Was there a Kingdom for the Low Countries??
    4. Lithuania.. that would be fun and interesting
    5. 1080 B.C. Spain was a mess!! I suggest Navarre & Aragon maybe Valencia for El Cid, also divide Spain into Leon/Castille

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there was no Lithuania in 1080. There were Baltic tribes, including Lithuanians (and a whole bunch of others), but not a Lithuanian state.

I have to say, I love how packed out with settlements the Balkans is. With all of this, I think a Serbian faction is must!

Also, regarding Italy, might it be better to start off with Bari having its Greek name of "Varion"? I know the majority of the population of Apulia remained Greek speaking and Orthodox into the thirteenth century, and Greek remnants still inhabit the region today.

I've gone back and forth with combining Zahumlje and Duklja like 4 or 5 times now. In the end, I've just resigned myself to the fact that I love this area of Europe way too much to not overload it with settlements.

Oh yeah, and brownie points (that's rep ) to whoever can guess the name of the region that now occupies northern Sweden.

EDIT: Argh, Geomod died on me this morning and totally ed up my files...working on putting the backups back in right now. Grr...
EDIT again: All ness fixed. Back to work.

You are looking for either Uppland or Sodermanland. Useful link - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provinces_of_Sweden

I have a question for you. Considering the extent of your map and the density of cities particularly in the Balkans, how are you coping rubbing up against the region limit? (199+sea)

That's not exactly what I meant. Here's a hint: the region's settlement isn't actually in Sweden.

All 199 slots are being used right now. But I'm still doing little shuffles and corrections here and there. I think Anatolia needs one more province so I might pull out Mallorca.

Somehow in my first run-through of family trees last week I completely missed the fact that Emperor Alexius had siblings (ha!), which works out perfectly for me since all I had was him and his wife which is not exactly ideal for the start of the game, so now the Byzantines actually will have a few family members/generals to help Alexius stem the tide of the Seljuks.

Also, is anyone opposed to another Anatolian settlement? I feel like Mallorca, while I'm sure its a lovely vacation spot, doesn't really warrant its own territory at this point in history, considering it was only quasi-independent of the Taifa of Denia (though it did long outlast poor Denia), and I think that I missed a pretty important Anatolian settlement: Amasia, which I believe was the Danishmend capital at one point. That whole area is giving me fits anyway trying to figure out region names and rebel faction names...its a bit of a mess, but I'm working on it.

No one really seems to know (or care) what that region is in northern Sweden, so I'll just explain really quick. Obviously, there were very few settlements period (much less major settlements) north of the Uppsala area in this time period, and so even though it didn't really make sense I just extended those regions north even though it wasn't technically historically accurate. A few days ago I was looking at another mod's thread and saw they were having difficulty deciding what to do with Finland, their solution being that since there weren't any large documented settlements up there, the territory would just roll into Novgorod. Again, not entirely historically accurate, but within the limits of the game engine, not a terrible compromise. I decided to leave the region in Finland, add the territory in Sweden, and call the whole thing Sápmi to represent the various Sami peoples and just leave the Turku settlement as the settlement for the whole region. That's my compromise, what do you guys think?

Sounds like a good compromise for finland. Another settlement in Anatolia couldn't hurt but I would be concerned about the Turks having too many settlements and stack spamming.
