Install help!

My EB installation won’t work  So I downloaded 1.1 and 1.2 from the torrents provided on EB’s website and once its finished I ran 1.1 as administrator. I downloaded it into my Rome total war folder (which is in program file unfortuantly. However that shouldn’t be a problem because EB worked fine in program file on my computer a few month ago before my computer decided to helpfully die) Once the download is almost finished however something happened that forces me to abort the install…….check the screenie provided.
What did I do wrong? If you help me solve my problem prepare for many thanks and a rep storm.

You may try to just copy your RTW folder to a place outside Program Files (i.e. C:\Games) and run the installation again.

However, this particular error may also come from a bug on your system, if the option above fails check your system.
If this too does not solve the problem re-download the installer, but from another source.

No beans. I moved it out of program files but it still didn't work. Could you give me the link you used to download it?
When I try to run the uninstaller this pop up. Does this mean anything? (check the screenie)

Well, since the installer failed it probably couldn't prepare the uninstaller. Delete the files manually, afterwards delete EB's entry in the software panel.
I really think that there is a problem with your OS, those characters in your first screenshot are definitive not normal, do other installers have same problems?

Torrent should provide you with a 100% clean and working installer, however try Org-FTP as another source.

Yep now that you remind me I remember several other M2TW mods that had the same problem. I think I just rebooted my computer and that did the trick. I will try that at once!!

2 hours later.....
it didn't work.....any more suggestions?
I mean I'm using Administrator account and using Window 7 intel so it should be abnormal.....that and it worked on my computer before it crashed......

So it is completely clear that your OS has a problem with some installers, you should fix this!

A possible workaround could be to extract the installer manually, copying the EB folder inside your RTW folder and creating a new shortcut to RomeTW.exe and edit the target line by adding -mod:eb -show_err -ne to the end of the target line.

In your own interest, check your OS!

Heres a screenie of my OS.
COuld it be that other mods are conflicting with EB? I have tons of RTW mods.
There is the Lord of the Ring total war Mod
the ROme Total Realism Mod
the Ran No Jidai Mod
the Res Gestae mod
the Aristeia mod
the 58 BC caeser impertor mod
the 77 BC twillight of the Republic mod
and lastly the The First Triumvirate mod

EB requires a clean 1.5 RTW installation.
If all those other mods are completely modfoldered and leave vanilla untouched than it's no problem.

However, I personally would use one copy of RTW per mod.
