Campaign doesnt load, custom battle doesnt load, errors!

Hey please help me,
the main campaign doesnt load instead it says PLEASE SELECT FROM THE LIST,
the custom battle doesnt play all it does it goes back to the previous window
and at the end theres some random frustrating error when i exit
it says

line 27 missing
campaign year

Have you installed RTW and patched it properly? I think that's what happens when you haven't patched the game up to 1.6 ..."Please Select and Item from the List" or perhaps you have recently reinstalled RTW but some of the previous install was left behind and not removed.
