Splash screen crash.

Hey guys,

I know this is a common problem but never the less the forum search function wasn't cooperating.

Spash screen ctd is the problem. Im running as administrator all UAC settings are tweaked how they should be (never notify). Running in compatibility for xp sp 2. Im running windows 7.

{The problem seems to have started after installing the SS 6.4 patch}

1) screw compability mode...it does more harm than good, especially to performance.

2) turn UAC all the way off (past no notify) and reboot your computer. This actually turns it off all the way.

3) Reinstall mtw2 and kingdoms outside of programs files, i.e. C:/games on win7. so your C:/ folder should look like this

blah
blah
Games
blah
Program Files
Program Files(x86)
blah
Windows
blah

4) Go to your ss6.3 download folder and right click the .exe (little horsey) and click run as administrator. Follow the install instructions.

5) Right click the ss6.4.exe file and click run as administrator. Follow the install instructions.

***if your already outside program files skip step 3

How do I choose the install directory of Kingdoms? Its just putting it straight back in program files SEGA ....

just type it in when you install mtw2 as c:/games instead of program files...the rest should follow suit.

Use the setup.exe in the folder in the cd instead of the autorun version.
