Help with modding please?

So on my desktop i have the startup downloader for the stainless steel mod for medieval 2, i also have kingdoms expantion pack (Brought on steam, not disk) i need help in choosing where to save the mod when i start up the downloader, no matter where i save it, when i open medieval II it opens the small windowed screen telling you news, polls etc, then when you click on play i get a choice of Med II and all of the kingdoms choices, but no stainless steel!!! can someone help me in where to save the mod, also if you coulf post a link to a tutorial to modding this game, anything would be great, thanks.

If you go to the stainless mod folder in the folder Medieval II/mods, there will be a launcher. This file is an .exe file. Create a shortcut of that file and paste the shortcut on your desktop. Then, whenever you click the shortcut, you should go straight to the game (there might be a small black screen pop-up, but its ok, just X it out). Check out my mod called Saeculis Obscuris (Dark Ages-in latin) It will be like that mod-hopefully better!
