What most of the screenshot artists do is to download a free screen capture program. I use grabclipsave, others use fraps - there are many such programs. The advantages of this are that they take the picture, and then save the picture as a jpg to wherever you specify.
However, if you wish to go the printscreen route, after you press printscreen, you need to minimize RTW, open a photo editing program like MS paint or Photoshop and paste it into that program.
It really depends on what you want to do. If you want to take a lot of screenshots, download one of the free programs. If you want to only take one or two, just use printscreen.

I click on the Print Screen button and then paste it into a graphics program - Paint Shop Pro... I can then crop etc and save it.
