What constitutes a "unit"?
I am a newb to the TWC community, but have been modding now with moderate success for about 6 months. The other day I ran into what I assumed to be the hardcoded limit for the # of skins you can have in game. My question: Which file (Export_Descr_Units, Descr_Model_Battle, or something completely different) makes something considered a "unit" by the RTW engine? Any help appreciated.

Export_descr_unit.txt defines the number of units, the hardcoded limit is 500 i believe. In descr_model_battle.txt each seperate entry like this:
type segmented_centurion
skeleton fs_dagger
indiv_range 40
texture romans_julii, data/models_unit/textures/lusteds_roman_segmented_centurion_julii.tga
texture romans_brutii, data/models_unit/textures/lusteds_roman_segmented_centurion_brutii.tga
texture romans_scipii, data/models_unit/textures/lusteds_roman_segmented_centurion_scipii.tga
texture romans_senate, data/models_unit/textures/lusteds_roman_segmented_centurion_senate.tga
model_flexi_m data/models_unit/seg_centurion.cas, 15
model_flexi_m data/models_unit/seg_centurion.cas, 30
model_flexi_m data/models_unit/seg_centurion.cas, 40
model_flexi data/models_unit/seg_centurion.cas, max
model_tri 400, 0.5f, 0.5f, 0.5
counts towards the model limit which is 255 i believe.
