Shogun 2 Getting old?

Hello everyone just poping up and strikeing some conversation. Anyways Has anyone else other then me has gotten sick of Shogun 2 and started playing NTW or ETW,RTW,MTW2 im not trying to flame dont get me wrong Shogun 2 is a good game but just seemed to die very quickly with me anyone else feel the same??

I have yet to complete a full campaign in Shogun 2 but I have completed many in all the older TW games this is weird!!?? I mean I just cant seem to finish one campaign in Shogun 2. I tryed starting up a old campaign up in shogun 2 and man that only lasted 30 mins I hate that. I allso sadly fell asleep while playing a online campaign with my brother this last month I dunno guys but for some reason I cant play it for very long anymore.

I think that's just you. The campaign is probably less interesting because you can't steamroll that easy anymore. Or perhaps the 10 000 other reasons people have been complaining about on these forums.

LoL its not becuase I cant Steamroll I will say sir I did not look for a easy Campaign its not becuase it wasnt easy trust me I play on very hard difficulty btw. Id rather not steamroll anything I like very Hard campaigns trust me. Its something else and I cant really put my finger on it. And Im not really Complaining im just stateing it has gotten old fast. Plus most people complain for good reason unless they complain about useless crap then they complain about nothing.

I allso did some editing giveing the AI more money and so on so they have a edge on me makeing it as hard as I could I want the AI to try to beat me Id love it so its not about steamrolling.

Its not the difficulty, its the lack of variety. Every clan is the same, every campaign is the same, every battle is the same, all the units are the same. After two or three full campaigns it gets boring.

I want Rome 2, there are SO many more possibilities, so many more cultures, options, units.
In shogun 2, EVERY war is a civil war, and there is no huge civil war (one on one, like Caesar vs Pompei) , and no conquering foreign land.

In shogun everything is simplified, theres no micro management, and the "rpg" system gets old after repeating the same tree 70 times during one campaign, and all generals end up being the same. Also everything is easy, there is one tax setting, there is a small amount of buildings, and the gunpowder weapons destroy the feeling of epic samurai battles.

So no sir, it is not just you, a lot of us dont like shogun very much. I went back to playing Roma Surrectum 2 after a couple of campaigns. Dont even get me started on the multiplayer, when it had such a great beginning. Unless they make a multiplayer option where 10 people each choose a faction, and its realtime or something, im satisfied with random battles, i dont care about painting my general green.

I'm not even bored with my 1st Date campaign.

Even the Mori patron god, Ebisu cannot save them from our righteous path of revenge. Every goddam Mori settlement from Hyuga to Bingo will be sacked looted with callous disregard, every last Mori and Kobayakawa and Kuki and all their retainer clans hunted down.

But I cant. They back their armies with samurai filled stacks. Its been 5 years fighting them in a stalemate right in Kyoto.

Meanwhile whenever I go back to other games its like.

Ugh. Its like a friggin chore, the campaign gameplay has never been the same. Its like been nagging on my head that why do I continue to myself in torture just for sentimental sakes when a better one is just an alt f4 and click away? Why bother with a nonexistent AI that has no response to obvious flank attacks? I had more entertainment watching a mangonel crew reload than this.

Sure there is like "Whoa! Different army set ups.............SURREAL BATTLE OF CULTURE CLASH CIVILIZATIONS EXTREME!" Like a friggin custom battle of aztecs vs scots in a desert map. But its meh.

Just play something else..... problem solved

Im playing other total war games now but still wish Shogun 2 could of kept me playing longer then this So no problem is not solved I wish I could play it till the game melts down my CPU AND GPU!!!! But cant lol. Funny thing too the directX 11 patch didnt do much for me either arge!!! LoL And more DLC crap!!!

Yea I only got 132 hours clocked in for Shogun 2.

I play this game like crazy since release and I encounterd the opposite reaction to yours. All the new stuff that Shogun 2 brought us let all the other TW's look slow and lacking something. I tried Empire again but ... I stopped playing after like 30 minutes and started a new Mori campaign.
For me, Shogun 2 is not only the best TW, it also just never get's old.

I will agree on this everyone does have a diffrent reaction to surtain kind of games so yeah I guess its lacking somewhere for me where it isnt lacking for you.

Watch Sengoku Basara then. Finally, read a book by Stephen Turnbull imagining all the history using Sengoku Basara characters.

psh you think you would have finished at least one campaign with 132 hours of play time. Before playing Shogun 2 for the first time i watched the Last Samurai again, got me really into the mood.

Yeah... when I first got into Rome back then it lasted longer before I got sick of it. I thought about starting another game as Ikko Ikki but... wtf. Lame clan colors and setting yourself up for failure due to the lack of bonuses but are more "unique" or "special" in another way that other clans arent. I actually want to use the Ronin too so I kinda want to start another game. Its just I been playing the out of S2TW alot and kinda taking it easy now.

Lol - Steam informs me that I've played S2 for 38 hours, and nothing since 30th March. It must be the least I've played of all the TW games (and I've got them all).

I like the graphics, even if they are a little glossy, and the gameplay elements are probably the most advanced so far. It's just that none of it feels epic. I'm sorry, but after building numerous Roman, Hellenic and British Empires, squabbling over a few backwater islands in the Pacific really doesn't cut the mustard; and the battles and battlefields must be the most boring so far (am I the only one who thinks that the ETW battlefields are the most interesting CA have done - so much better than the ones in NTW?)

Yeah - not my favourite game, I'm afraid - sad really!

I got bored of my first campaign tryed like 3 others and did a few online campaigns with my brother and a friend just got bored and sick of the dysyncing bugs. Allso what killed me on this game I think is the problem with the AI reinforcement issue if they havnt fixed by now then it wont be fixed till the next game they release.

Shogun 2 got old for me within 2-3 weeks of its release.

I'm now patiently awaiting Rome Total War 2.
