No, Demetrias is very near to where Volos is. Larissa had the same name for quite some time. In fact, toponyms with the -ssa ending do not come from Greek, not even proto-Greek, which means they come from the people who inhabited Greece before the Greeks even arrived.

Erm, I am not sure what you mean.

Either the place or the name is wrong. If the place is corrent, the name is wrong, it should be Larissa. If the place is wrong, the name is ok, but the city should be near where modern Volos is.

Well, the natives were absorbed into proto-Greek culture, which eventually led to Greek culture. But that there a lot of toponyms which are impossible to fit into what we know about the Greek language is a fact. In any case, that's a matter of personal opinion and should not affect the name of one city in the mod.

Sorry but I think there should be alittle correction in the map names (in the first post)

The name of this map should not be Armenia. It should be Georgia. it includes the whole Georgia(Kartli and Lazica) and a small part of Armenia. So I think the name should be changed


Here is a map to compare the territories. it is not the map for the exact date but from this map you can see what territory it is.
