To be honest the eastern roman empire did not have "medieval castles" at the time, since the world just got out of late antiquity and entered the "dark ages" , it took a while for them to go from the ancient fortifications to medieval, certainly not before 717.

And it wasn't the world that "got out of late antiquity and entered the "dark ages", but only Western Europe in its former WRE realms. The ERE simply entered the Early Middle Ages, no Dark Ages there.

I agree, though i see Europe as the world at this time period, since everywhere else (except China) there was little civilisation, only naked savages sacrificing each other.

However, i would say that ERE DID have a "dark" age, when it was attacked on all fronts by Avars, Arabs and Slavs, that got all the way to Constantinople, if thats not dark, i dunno what is, since the events were described as "Catastrophic" and "Apocalyptic"

uh....the muslims were pretty advanced at the time medicine, arts, astrology and other stuff were thriving in the middle east. one of the key turning points for Europe was the items that were coming out of the middle-east.

It looks great! I'm so exited for this mod! Rome mods are something lacking for Medieval II: kingdoms Cant wait to play The western Roman Empire vs the Eastern Roman Empire with my friends!

Ok guys again: this mod is set in the age of justinian. The west roman empire had fallen already 43 years ago. You could play Romans vs Ostrogoths though..
