    Default Questions regarding PC

Hello, I have some questions I would like to ask you gentlemen.

Is it possible to for me to put my PC windows 7 backup on a external harddrive and still use it as a backup?

I also use windows security essentials as my basic firewall.

    Feedback appreciated

    Regards, Phil

Using external HDDs to backup Windows 7 is extremely common, and you should have no problem doing so. Just make sure that there is enough space on the HDD for the backup!

I also use windows security essentials as my basic firewall.
Also, having the basic Windows security is acceptable; but upgrading to a security suite such as Norton or Kaspersky is recommended.

Honestly, there is no need to pay big money for Norton or Kaspersky when you have Microsoft Security Essentials plus a bit of common sense when it comes to surfing the web and you should be fine. It's worked for me.

Norton is not very dependable, so I can certainly cross that off the list but Kaspersky & McAfee best
the likes of free programs like AVG & Microsoft Security Essentials but they are certainly not needed, as
mw2xboxplayer stated it's only recommended. I get McAfee Netprotect Plus for free since I have BT
    Broadband

yea i use MSE myself it uses very little system resources so its great on older machines, and it interfaces with windows nicely and dosent tend to screw me over like AVG did with false positives on game exes where it would say a legit game was a virus and delete the damn exe on its own lol. switched MSE when it first came out between MS3 and Malwarebytes Anti Malware free edition your 99% covered unless you do something really stupid.

as for backing up your PC, i personaly dont use backup software i simply physically and manually backup key files i need etc things are important, on redundant drives and DVD media, its more time consuming and its not automatic but then for me its easier then relying on software they may or may not do the job that said backing up to an external HDD is very common and a good idea.
