Default Help on new laptop - plan on playing Shogun 2 TW

Hey I am looking to get a new laptop as I am going to university in September. My limit for it would be in the $700-800 range +/- a bit.

Anyways, I was hoping I could get one that could run Shogun 2 reasonably well... Any of you guys have any suggestions for a laptop. I'll most likely be ordering it through tiger direct, so, if you could, please provide a link from this site: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/

    Thanks a bunch!

    1) What is your budget?
    $900 max

    2) What size notebook would you prefer?
    a. Netbook; 10” screen or less
    b. Ultraportable; 11" - 12” screen
    c. Thin and Light; 13" - 14" screen
    d. Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen
    e. Desktop Replacement; 17"+ screen

Preferably 15-16" but I'd be fine with other sizes.

    3) Where will you buying this notebook? You can select the flag of your country as an indicator.
In Canada, Most likely through tiger direct but doesn't matter too much

    4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
    a. Like:
    b. Dislike:

My first laptop, so I'll leave it up to you

    5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed?
Don't see why not, as long as they meet my goals.

    6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
Web browsing, taking to university classes, streaming TV shows, and playing various TW games.

    7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?
    Both

    8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? If so, please state which games or types of games?
I'll mainly be playing TW games, so if it can run S2TW and ETW/NTW well then that's a plus.

    9) How many hours of battery life do you need?
Will have it plugged quite abit, but obviously enough for classes, so atleast 4 hours.

    10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?
I'd be just fine with buying it online.

    11) What OS do you prefer? Windows (XP or Vista or Windows 7), Mac OS, Linux, etc.
    Windows

    12) From the choices below, what screen resolution(s) would you prefer? Keep in mind screen size in conjunction with resolution will play a large role in overall viewing comfort level. Everyone is different. Some like really small text, while others like their text big and easy to read. Click here for Screen resolution information.
I'll leave that up to you.

    13) Do you want a Glossy/reflective screen or a Matte/non-glossy screen?
    No preference here.

    14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
    No, not really.

    15) When are you buying this laptop?
    Most likely early-mid July.

    16) How long do you want this laptop to last?
Obviously longer lasting is better. I'd say atleast 2 years.

    17) How much hard drive space do you need; 80GB to 640GB? Do you want a SSD drive?
Atleast 320, No, I don't really need an SSD drive

    18) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a CDRW/DVD-ROM, DVD Burner or Blu-Ray drive?
    CDRW/DVD-ROM

please fill this out. What you can do with that tight budget is to either get the dv6t qe with the 6770m 1g upgrade (I dont think that the FHD matte display is available in canada), check the interwebs for coupons, there is always one available for that model

or you can go for the y470

or the sager np5160 (whatever is the one that comes with the gt 555m), you can order it in Canada with reflexnotebooks or fortnax

however the hp is going to be the better buy specially with the screen upgrade, and yes the gpu in that one is more powerful
