"unspecified error game will now exit" on startup

does this say enough? I'm sure I followed the install instructions exactly but crashing persists.

I used the both instruction links from mw2xboxplayer. Now it's saying "Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit"

Which download links did you use?

I recommend:
1.) Re-installing Medieval II + Kingdoms,
*Optional Re-download CoW 1.4.4*
2.) Install CoW 1.4.4.
3.) Use the Steam tool mentioned here http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=414896

I am assuming you are using Steam to run the mod, due to your screenshot.

I got it. I had to put it in my empty Stainless Steel folder XD
