To all the guys at EB.
This mod is amazing and its not complete yet. I've been playing for a week now as the romans and thoroughly enjoying it. I've reached the year 197 and am just wondering if you have managed to script a more accurate timeline for the Marian Reforms or wether it is as it was for vanilla - requiring a Imp. Palace in an Italian mainland province?? I'm persevering with the romans in order to get a look at the new legion units and want to see how they handle against the much tougher units you have provided for the other factions.
Great units by the way - I'm really pleased that the Celtic factions have some decent base units instead of those crappy warbands in vanilla. Gesatea are rock hard. I lost a 12 stack army to just five of these nutters. (My army was quite inexperienced but was well led - a 2 star general).
I love the complexity of the trait system and the surprise elements you have incorparated - such as Reformata trait which let me build Libyan spearmen for the roman army.
I have one constructive criticism - the boring trait. It really is boring. The first few times is ok but when it starts happening every turn because you have a dozen or more cities it gets very frustrating having to walk your governor around simply to get rid of this trait and the penalties.
For the sake of gameplay will you consider dropping this trait? Does anyone else find this a pain??
The bonus/penalty system is very good. It might need tweaking slighlty to help the player with foreign conquests far from the capital.
As this is a beta I will wait to see what adjustments you make.
Please keep up the good work on what is IMO the best RTW mod - by far.
Much appreciated.![]()
One other point of note.
Because of the expensive cost of all the units the AI appears to be building losts of cheap missile unit armies. I came up against three stacks of Ptolemaoi in the middle east that were composed entirely of archers/slingers/javelinmen.![]()
Has anyone else found this same problem.
