I got a great deal! (i5-2500)

Not that anyone probably cares all that much but hey

I ordered a suspiciously cheap intel i5-2500 off ebay for $160 with free shipping that claimed it was brand new in box, due to the low price (sells for $209.99 on Newegg etc.) I wasn't so sure it'd be as described.

Today I got the package which was shipped to my directly from Newegg rather than the seller himself, the seller paid for 2nd day air UPS even though the estimated shipping time was 7-10 days on the ebay listing. So it was brand new and sealed, arrived fast and I saved $50 on a brand new CPU!

HAPPPY!!!!

So now I have my gaming PC with an Asus Sabertooth P67 board and i7-2600k, an eyefinity tri-27" monitor media PC with a Gigabyte Z68 board and i5-2500, and a spare PC (waiting for Windows 8 beta) with an Asus P67 board and another i5-2500.

nice lol wish it was a 2500k tho then id be opening a beer in honor of a truly great find, a regular 2500 gets you a Coke lol

I wouldn't overclock it even if I did get a 2500k. That CPU is massive overkill already, the hardest it should have to work is driving Winamp Milkdrop at 5780x1080.

well in that case its fine, but i figure why not get the most out of my hardware when i buy it

no point letting untapped potential not get used... and its just so damn easy to overclock these chips lol, altho i do miss the challenge some chips gave years ago taking an Athlon X2 3800+ from 2ghz to 3ghz was so much fun. ah i miss those days.. sorry im getting all nostalgic now

The cheapest 2500k I have found on ebay (new,sealed) is $199.99 so since I didn't need the performance I sure wasn't gonna spend $40 more

which makes alot of sense lol didnt say it was a bad choice just im the kind of guy who would pay $40 more just to i can tweak settings thats were alot of my fun comes from, always trying to push a bit more out of the hardware on hand.
