    Default WindowsXP SP3 ?

It looks like there will be another service pack for windowsXP, before they release Windows Vista (the new windows), I wonder if it's a last injection into windowsXP, the final boost before starting to switch over concentrate on Windows Vista.

I know many people will jump to the bandwagon to buy Windows Vista on release (sometime 2007), but just let you know, that when windowsXP was released, it could not be called as a "stable" OS. Matter effect, Windows 98SE was to the most-stable windows OS, at that time, while most people were already switching over to WinXP. It's the same deal again. if winXp recevies this last-booster pack, and when Win Vista comes out, Vista will be very 'beta'-like still, IMO and it is wise to stick a little longer with XP, until problems (because there will be) gets smoothed out with Vista.

I think Windows Vista is scheduled to be released in the Fall of 2006.

From the looks of it, the third Service Pack for XP will be released in 2007. This means that they're going to release SP3 after the release of Vista so that more people will jump on the Vista bandwagon.

Personally XP is doing fine for me, heck if DirectX 10 is supported by Windows XP I wouldn't even bother getting Vista.

Its good to see Microsoft actually caring about their customers though, hopefully they won't ignore us XP users after Vista is relesed.

No way will I be an early adopter. Vista might become another "forgotten OS" like windows ME.

    I highly doubt that.

I almost never buy the 'new Windows' at its very release because each and every time they are infested with various bugs. I'll probably wait a decent amount of time for Windows Vista to be ironed out and polished. It's good to hear they're releasing another Service Pack for XP after the release of Windows Vista (if Honor&Glory is correct), but it is interesting considering that Windows Vista is not too far away.

I don't think it's going to become another Windows ME. That was simply horrible (my sister had it on her new computer when it was released).

Yeah, I plan to stick with XP for awhile and then switch to Vista when it's more stable. I eagerly await SP 3.
