2.1a patch, game save problem

I recently installed the 2.1a patch. When I started my campaign I noticed that I could not save my game. I was wondering why this is, and how I may fix it.

Any help would be great

Did you start a new campaign? Or continure your old one? If the 2nd option its because 2.1a is not save-game compatibale meaning you have to start a new campaign.

well it doesnt seem to have worked.
I also just realized that this is only happening with the Spartan campaign. All others such as Rome and Macedonia i can save with...
