    Default Corrupted usb stick

    The usb stick got infected with virus. Whenever I try to open it, my pc freezes and it shows a message about
    being inaccessible or corrupted. I tried to scan it with microsoft security essentials and avast but to no avail.
    My PC just freezes.

    So the question is can I save the data? If yes how?

    You could open it in Linux, or something of that idea.

    Perhaps it actually is simply corrupted?

    If it truly were a virus your PC would have got it before the USB stick.

    Indeed it got infected from the pc.
