Default Obama pledges to bailout Greece

    http://www.cnbc.com/id/43321461

My advice to Greece is don't take the fiat money because you will be expected to put up all of your gold as collateral. Maybe even some islands and the Parthenon as well. This is grand larceny.
It has been surmised, that perhaps, my lord had become like a wild animal that had been kept too long. Perhaps, but whatever... freedom... so long an unremembered dream, was his.
The children of Doom...Doom's children. They told my lord the way to the mountain of power. They told him to throw down his sword and return to the earth...HA!! time enough for the earth in the grave.

My advice to Greece would be to take it, because you are bankrupt.

Ladies and gentlemen, the opinion of two different political parties: Republican and Democratic! Give a round of applause!

I am divided on the issue: I would like to see America give some money to Greece, but I also badly want to see the EU crumble!

Republicans and Democrats are both for bail outs. They are both sell outs.

Greece's debts were fraudulent. What Goldman Sachs did was cook the books for Greece. They should be stiffed and the corrupt government dissolved. Taking the bailout will mean disaster for Greece as they are systematically robbed of their nations wealth.

I think that the systematical robbing of Greek nations wealth, is an established situation for many years. A number of corrupted governments, foreign and Greek companies and an elite have been successfully doing it
The problem however was that the rulers, with the use of public money, had succesfully bought off the people non-reaction and partially it's participation in the situation.
Now though ,things are different. No more demagogic policies for "supporting the economically weak and unemployed ". The people now has left alone to deal with the crisis and this time none government can tame them or fool them.
It is possible though that this US concern over Greece and the economical aid will change somehow the perception of US policy over Greece and the perception of GReeks over it.

May I enquire why you want to see your nation's closest allies fall into serious political tourmoil?

Their gold their property etc. Greece is going to be carved up. Gold would be used as collateral for bailouts.

Alexander must turn in his grave with the current situation of Greece.

Well his standards are unmatched by any Greek politician, from all the periods of time.
In a poll made in Greece who is the "Greatest Greek", Alexander placed 1st and by tremendous number of votes comparing to the 2nd.

Anyway the problems in Greece had started many years ago. First the Greek civil war after the destruction of Greece during WW2, has been a setback to any development in Greece and a context for political struggle between political ideologies for many years to come.
When the things started to get in a straight line then came the 7 year dictatorship and (1967-1974) and another setback was a reality.
After the dictatorship the political turmoil and the creation of a modern state had been undermined by a political system that promoted a state under political parties control and favoritism and nepotism which disconfirmed the expectations of Greek people for a fair democratic state.
some good policies and some good politicians were there but the few can't change a whole system.

There are gold deposits in Greece in Macedonia and Thrace as far as i know.

But the real gold is the geographical position, the Greek ports and the increased interest in possible petroil and almost certain natural gas deposits in Greek EEZ

Alexander in his grave is trying to hide his spear from fear we will sell it.

More than money, which are VERY welcome, we need investments. Giving us money, even without ANY interest just pushes the final meltdown further away. We need to start MAKING money.

I'm sorry, but Greece. I think we've got our own damn debt crisis to deal with before we go and bail out an entire country who has already been bailed out by fellow Europeans.

Oh god. The USA is bad enough already in terms of our debt crisis. We don't need to start bailing out other countries now too.

I agree with Thanatos. The US is in no position to start giving out handouts. The US can be sold to a monkey if China says so, so I don't see why on Earth they want to give out more money.

    lol

China may be the biggest foreign country buying US debt, but the US taxpayers are the biggest holders of US debt. China needs to get in line.
