It is in our genes, it is in our human nature to go as fast as possibly can, even it it's unecessary.

Otherwise why would anyone try to overclock something that is fast enough already to play all games?

Or put a turbo-charger on a Corvette? I would do it too, if i would have the dough for it, and I would also buy these cards, even if i don't need them.

and here is my future car for fun:

What do you guys think of the X1800GTO? If they can sell that around ~$220 it would be a pretty good bang for the buck. I just checked Newegg, the lowest price for the 7600 is $190.

Well, this is evil. I bought my 7800 512 for 750, now they are selling a better card for $550.

Wow that sucks Most of those GTX are already sold out

The cheapest price for the 7900GT is 'only' $300, now thats a pretty good deal for a card that can beat the 7800GTX, and its a pretty good overclocker too.

That's what I'm saying. Damn, I wish I could buy it right now.

Edit: Just found out that the eVGA Geforce 7900GT PCI-E at Newegg is sold out so I'm hoping they get some more in soon.

I'm very tempted by the 7600GT. I have no money though and i'd rather save it till when I get my new pc (already pre-built)

Yeah, the Evga one (GTX), atleast the extreme one, is the best on the market now (690 , 1760). Figures, i was going to buy my 7800GTX 512 from eVGA, but i decided on BFG because of slightly better spec's. bah, if i had bought it from eVGA I could of used the step up program for a 7900GTX

Whats this step up program. Because I just bought a 7800GT from eVGA. Does it have to be 512mb GTX or can I upgrade 256mg GT?

I cannot believe the price on one of the 7900s on www.overclockers.co.uk £500! Who would pay £500 for a graphics card, maybe Achilles will (the guy who won 1.5 mill)

BTW whats up with those cheap 7300s? They are like £40 so they must be crap but the specs make it look good.

They're a waste of money. As soon as you buy it, they've reduced the price and come out with something twice as fast all inside a few months. Thats what happened to me and my 9800XT that was the $hit when I got it for around 500 bucks.

Yeah, that's what I hate. After looking at some more 7900 GTs at Newegg, I'm now planning to buy a XFX GeForce 7900 GT XXX instead of the eVGA one. The XFX one is supposed to be the fastest 7900 GT around with a 560MHz core clock and a 1650MHz mem clock.
