Since Update 2, their answers will be wrong as CA never updated to them.

    Not true at all.

You do have to buy a horrendously overpriced HP however.

With that model you can choose a 6850 using their manual online ordering options.

A young lady did that for her Christmas present so she could play Medieval2 in college. The thread is buried in the Tech forum.

There you're wrong. You just have to be an informed shopper and stick up for what you want.

You want to play with the big boys, it costs money. Simple.

@The OP: I hope you just forgot to tell us the graphic card Sorry, but without a gfx card you can't play Med2 or even Rome.

A decent gfx card would be at 100-200 euros, however

Try and get a cheap graphics card. Nvidia 260 or a ATI 47xx. It won;t run great, but your processor isn;t really worth anything better. Get one of those and you'll probably be able to run it decently.

his cpu could handle better if overclocked its essentially a stripped down Athlon II x4 quad they overclock well but overall id have to agree the cpu as it is will hold back any modern gpus

best the chip can push without bottlenecking would be AMD 6790 or Nvidia GTX 460 1gb even then those gpus will be slightly bottlenecked.

Good luck trying to overclock a CPU in OEM built PC and good luck trying to beating the laws of physics with fitting a 6970 in a slimline case. Nothing less then a complete custom PC will do here.

well no ive made fit in slimlines before and i didnt not say 6970 i said 6790 its basically a stop gap between the 6770 aka renamed 5770 and 6850 and it only needs a dremel and elbow grease to fit lol

that said OEM systems can be overclocked if you go to the right forums you can get custom bios and flash them to the boards but yea. not something the OP is capable of lol

and i was merely commenting on the CPU and its abilities not the rest of the rig.

An athlon II x2 can handle up to a 460 1gb or 6790 athlon II x3 can handle a 6850 without much issue athlon ii x4 is good for a 6870 and or gtx 560 not the Ti version but overall those cpus will still bottleneck to some degree.

also even if its a slimline it means its micro atx ive pulled those boards and placed them into difference cases before without much issue, hell just did it a week or so ago moved an HP slimline system with an athlon 64 x2 am2 system to a Gateway mid tower that was from 2001 i used a dremel to cut out a larger hole of the IO ports, and then dropped the parts in and added a larger gpu for some older games.
and as an OEM pc its still a pile of junk, i wouldnt be surprised if the PCIE slot on the motherboard isnt full x16 bandwidth

seen many OEM units lately shipping x16 physical slots but they only have x4 or x8 bandwidth on AMD rigs, anyway im rambling.
