Windows being Windows, it just may anytime. So far in 2011, I've lost my keyboard just turning on the computer first thing in the morning and had to reboot.

I've had this problem with certain motherboards and certain keyboards. Remember that motherboards can be the reason for these occasional hiccups just as easily as windows.

Very true. My Win7 install is a year and a hlf old, totally up to date, and the motherboard is about six months older. It could have got caught in the Vista to 7 transisition but I've kept the BIOS and chipset up to date, just in case.
