Changing starting location of a faction?
Title says it all. I've tried starting a campgaign, saving it before doing anything, and then giving myself control through the ESF Editor of a certain area, but I had no luck with that. I'm currently looking over the other game files, but in the meantime I was wondering if someone had done this before.
To be specific, I am trying to have Chosokabe start at Buzen. I figure it makes sense for the archer faction to have access to archer bonuses.
An alternative would be to swap out Tosa's lumber mills for the crafts.

Re: Changing starting location of a faction?
You can use the ESF editor to change the startpos.esf - that should do the trick.
Another option would be a script, I know I've seen one around here somewhere about how to do this... can't find it tho'

Re: Changing starting location of a faction?
Thanks for the quick reply. I think I see the right thing to change, but it doesn't let me save. I dug my way into Region_Manager, and into the region_array. Once there, the only differences I made were "standard_rebels" for "chosokabe" and "Otomo Rebels" for "Chosokabe Rebels," which were the only differences between Buzen and Tosa on there. If I would select Save As, it would tell me the file was in use. It said it saved successfully when I just did regular save, but made no difference in game, and now I cannot get into the region_array without it giving me an error and closing. I will also look for this script.

Re: Changing starting location of a faction?
Not gonna lie, I'm stumped.
I am editing the startpos.esf file in data\campaigns\jap_shogun\
Once in there, I navigate down to CAMPAIGN_ENV\CAMPAIGN_MODEL\WORLD\REGION_MANAGER\REGIONS_ARRAY\ and deal with the two REGIONS_ARRAY items that have to deal with Buzen and Tosa, but I have no idea what needs to be changed between the two, or if there is another file(s) that need to be changed.
Has anyone done this before? An alternative would be to trade the lumber in Tosa for crafts, to get the +archery special buildings.
