    THE RETURN OF THE KING
    SUBMOD FOR TATW 3.2 + MOS 1.3
    Partially featured in MOS 1.4 !

    Mike Golf's Expanded Map version added!

    NOT WORKING WITH ONLY TATW 3.2!

    V 3.0 FEATURES AND PREVIEW:

    + 4 TPY By JuL14n (3 summers and 1 winter)

    + Boromir's battle model is Emperor's one. No choice avaiable (due to game limitations)

    + Aragorn is now gondor leader; no more "Steward" but King

    + Aragorn Event slightly moved -now happens within turns 45-50

    +New Eldarion Script: if Aragorn has less than 3 sons, Eldarion will come of age at the right time (15 years after the marriage event)

    + Integrated FoG submod

    + proper strat_map textures for Stewards, Princes of Dol Amroth, and Lords of the Fiefs. No battle_model since I am no modeller.

    + proper strat_map textures for princesses for all human factions

    + royal blood trait system for leaders, heirs and princesses for all factions, mutuated from BBB

    + princess enabled for all human factions (so they can marry only humans)

    + Arwen is a princess in the HighElves tree.

    When Playing Gondor, she will spawn near Minas Tirith with a diplomat after Aragorn been accepted as a King so she can marry Aragorn by diplomacy.
    When Playing as High Elves, she will be sent to Minas Tirith in a similar way.

    + reworked family trees (several separate trees for Gondor, but only the "Royal" one will be visible. Stewards, Dol Amroth, each fiefdom, have their own lineage)

    + HQ princesses portraits

    suggestions are always appreciated, but keep clear that, at the actual state:

    - princesses are NOT avaiable for dwarves, elves NOR (it should be pacific, but who knows? just i think it's a perverted thing) ORCS, and they will never be.
    So, if you are Playing HE, be careful with Arwen since she is the only princess you will have in the game.

    HOW TO INSTALL:

    Mos 1.3 0) Make sure MOS 1.3 sub-mod is installed.
    1) download the file data.7z below
    2) extract \data folder in the \Medieval2\mods\Third_Age_3\ folder and overwrite all
    3) download, extract and overwrite the export_descr_character_traits below (bufix for Aragorn stratmodel)
    4) launch the game
    5) enjoy!

    Mos 1.3 + Mike Golf's expanded map 0) Make sure MOS 1.3 sub-mod is installed.
    1) download and Install Mike Golf's
    Expanded Map
    2) run Third_Age_3\cleaner.bat
    3) download
    the file data.7z below
    5) download, extract and overwrite the file RotK_expanded_map.7z below
    6) launch the game
    7) enjoy

    FUTURE CHANGES:

    Known Bugs:
    Princesses can simply walk into Mordor

    Aragorn's strat-model is wrong. To fix this:
    Download export_descr_character_traits below (will fix future games) and replace original (found in \data)
    If you started a game yet, replace the file, then, once in game, open cheat console and type "give_trait aragorn01 Level".

    Arwen does not spawn in Expanded map version (script error, the vanilla script was not removed so messed up a bit of things).
    Eventual fix (removing vanilla section) is not save-compatible

    tried to install on my vanilla 2.1 and it went back to desktop when launched

    That's a really interesting use of the Ĺmove_characterĺ command. I don't think I've seen it used that way before. From the screenshots, it looks like you were able to get the game to use the custom portrait: when I have tried to do that, the game ignores the custom portrait and uses a random portrait.

    @Ale_San: I fear I posted a corrupted file. try this:
    open \data folder
    open export_descr_ancillaries
    delete the 1st letter; it should be a "T"
    save, close and try the game again.

    @TNZ thanks very much, I'll try this thing. In fact I searched for something similar through the whole forum,but couldn't find.
    Only thing: it seems Denethor is the Heir, and i wanted to avoid this (in fact, when Aragorn dies, He is still Faction Leader. Only the Heir changes, and you will have no kings anymore. so, if I use the same thing you posted without the "heir" line in Denetor description, should it work?

    actually I've made some mess with portraits. I'll fix in the next release. But Arathorn one should be right.

    The Gondor family tree looks very well done, I gonna install it right now.

    EDIT: I istalled it, it crashed to desktop after I launched the game, I did the fix and same thing happened.

    Baron Samedi's is not a sub-mod, it's a compilation, like MOS.
    it means that there are several sub-mods in it. It's a damnd hard thing to do.
    when you overwrite any file, you risk to broke the whole sistem.

    u should change it so he turns out at turn 20 or something to make it more interesting for people who wants to play ur mod..i did it once so he turns out at turn 10..but unlike ur great submod aragorn was just a general, not high king like this one, which is awesome

    note: the princess in ur mod is hella HOT..WOWZE.

    Kiliš Alý: If you remove Ĺheirĺ from Denethorĺs character line, the game will automatically appoint a new heir from the available characters. You can add Ĺnon_familyĺ to the character lines: that will prevent them from being the factionĺs heir or leader. The Scottish faction in the Britannia campaign uses it:

    Unfortunately, as I have just discovered, it does remove their status as family members (they can't get married, even if there are in the family tree), so it's probably not that useful.

    That would at least ensure that you have the right faction heir.

    Actually, there is another approach you could use for sending Aragorn off map. You add Aragorn to the Ĺdescr_stratĺ as you would any other character. Then you use a campaign script to send them off map, and spawn him back. Here an example:

    Nice one Kiliš +rep.

    A word of warning: you might have problems with princesses if combining this with The Eye/Mirror because that uses (and kills all) princesses in the player's faction. i.e. Only Silvans and Melkor factions can use these 'tools' so Gondor, Eriador, Dale and Rohan are safe. But I take it that Rhun and Harad are included in "human factions". All factions will be affected in TATW 3.0.

    @TNZ: man, you're a scripting encyclopedia!
    howewer, as regards the non_family, it's unuseful, becouse i gave the "steward" trait to Boromir and Faramir, so that only they (or their direct descendants) become Stewards... if they cannot marry, the whole submod lose its significancy.

    Aragorn is alone in the family tree, but near turn 90 Arwen (H Elves) spawns near Minas Tirith with a gondorian diplomat, so you can marry her with Aragorn. And few turns later spawns Eowyn and you can marry her to faramir directly.

    The real problem is that Aragorn is always the Leader, EVEN IF HE DIES, couse I wrote this in the descr_strat to avoid the game appointig directly the heir:

    so if he dies on battle, the game says: faction Leader Aragorn dead -> new Leader (Aragorn) and new Heir (other character).

    And Aragorn, even after death, is still fation leader. I don't know how to fix this and maybe will change everything in future, but maybe this thing can be useful to somebody... i'll post it in the mod-workshop.
    finally, the alternative approach you're suggesting is a very interesting thing... surely i'll use it (with proper credits, obviously) becouse it will allow to give Aragorn his custom portrait.

    @withwnar thanks for the information, but i have two questions now.
    1 - Are High Elves safe too? i kept princesses disabled in the descr_sm_factions, but i scripted Arwen to spawn as a High Elves Princess, and she does...
    2 - Should i assume that the mirror will be in 3.0? that would be great!

    i think in vanilla he turns out at turn 70-80
    i trust you for the numbers, but keep sure i did not touch them.

    actually i'm thinking about the date the campaign should start... if it starts in 3007, surely the big boss will be avaiable by 3013-3014, wich means nearly turn 24.
