haha WOW! That may be worse than what I've had to deal with.
NOTE: I used the add money cheat a few times when things got sticky. As it is, the difficulty level of the overall campaign is pretty high I believe because it's so hard to make enough money to field armies!
I typically had the most cities, but only the 5th or 6th largest army, and I was practically going broke.
- I played Syracuse on hard/hard, because I'm a noob.
- When I reached the end year, I was pretty much tied with Rome for the top spot. The Ligurian Gauls were third.
Random stuff:
-After kicking Carthage out of Sicily, they did nothing to me for the rest of the game. While that didn't bother me and I found it rather nice, I'm not sure that's realistic or should be that way.
-Question regarding troop stats: Why do the Brettian/Lucanian Mountain Warriors (their heavy infantry) have better stats (9 and 18) than most of the Greek hoplites (typically 7 and 16)? Do the hoplites have other advantages?
-Naval transport: Already mentioned the slowness and someone said that this was unintended and will be fixed!
-Regarding the money, I don't know if all factions have the issue of chronic lack of funds. I made trade agreements with pretty much everyone, built almost exclusively economic buildings in my cities, had a disproportionately small army, and was still poor!
To fix this...if this is widely the case...maybe make more revenue buildings? Mines? More buildings that increase trade? Farming boost? I also had a lot of corruption and never really figured out how to get rid of that...
-Lastly, diplomats! Never was able to recruit them.
That's off the top of my head. Gotta run for now!
Well the Bruttians have a much much higher replenish rate than the Greeks, low quality mountainous rabble troops, that swarm your heavy and experienced, but precious few hoplites. It's supposed to be overpowered at present, to balance what's coming in the next patch, namely high-level Greek doctors and physicians which will come as ancillaries, if you earn them from certain Greek cities.
delete sorry

Stack spam also seems to be a problem with the ligurians in my campaign. Zoomed out, turned off fow and found this:

Hmm. I'll tone it down quite a bit then, in the next patch.
Ohhh, and I forgot...someone had mentioned the kill rate being too high. I must say I agree!
When we will see shield wall for phalanx and javelins for romans? when it is speculated that this things will be introduced?
In my samnite campaign I had to resort to a method of sacking two to three settlements in a row to get out of debt in the early stages. Now I am pulling in anywhere from 4500-8000 per turn. I do not know why it fluctuates.-Regarding the money, I don't know if all factions have the issue of chronic lack of funds. Well yes there is a lack of money in start but try to conquer the villages in Illyria
and after while the mission or the nobles will fund you with money .Generally i like when you have to battle for earnings
Question: What about phalanxes with "very long spears?" So far all I've seen are hoplites with little spears!
Or am I confused because I've been playing different mods at the same time...?
Because as far as I know, Pyrrhus' Epirotes had the vaunted sarissa pike, which was what, usually around 17 feet long?
According to trusty wikipedia, the sarissa was introduced by Phillip II, Alexander's daddy, so it was around long before Pyrrhus. Didn't any of the Greeks in Italy/Syracuse use it?
Where is the hotseat function for this mod? I wanna play hotseat! Did you remove the function?! In that case; why?! But if you didnt, and it just went away like that button that highlights units, PLEASE! try to get it back again!

@Mavs
Megalle Hellas is made up of greeks, they didnt use Macedonian equipment or tactics as far as I know. But I believe Pyrrhus will be in a later version so you can get your sarissa on.
I survived the Mayan Apocalypse 12/21/12
Just checked the mod. Superb! Well done guys!!
The music, the strat_map, the battle_map, all are great! Congratulations!!!
So do we just download this or is there something we need to download first. Do we have to have anything else for this mod installed first?
How is the hotseat coming? Are you going to add that?

Hey Devs, I was wondering about how you test out the playability of each faction. I another thread I read about a player's experience and SigniferOne decided to adjust some of the [scripting] as there were alot of enemy stacks in one region. Would you to have a faction by faction thread were people can note their experience during certain campaigns (like superfaction forming etc) or is this something for the beta testers (we might all be beta testers in a way) to report?
For example, there isn't alot known about the current X faction and you wonder how they develop when either the player is faction Y..
I have downloaded the game and installed it but can not launch it for some reason. Can somebody help?
What is the directory you have installed it to?
Are you running steam?
