Please direct me to a mod that addresses this if you can.
In M2TW Late Era battles, a player may set himself against an opponent with a battery of heavy artillery.
When viewed from a natural distance, the cannon fire can be seen AND a low decibel thump of the cannons fire can be heard.
I'm surprised to not hear these same far travelling low decibel thumps of cannon fire in NTW.
As an ex artillerist, I'm rather dissatisfied with that level of realism LOST to me. Kid gamers who never saw combat might not understand, but I'm certain my fellow vet players know exactly what i'm talking about.
You can hear cannon fire for miles and miles in those low frequencies. On night watch, you can almost feel more than hear engagements from 30 miles away.
So where did those low decibel sounds go? I thought maybe it had something to do with how sound v distance is calculated more than the sound files themselves.
And also, we seem to have many modders who actually think the sounds of artillery and muskets firing BLANKS gives the same rapport as a live load. Um, not in my experience. Blank fire doesn't even make me flinch. They feel like farts to my senses.
