CTD during Start up

Been experiencing CTD whilst trying to start the game up, it just loads up to the Crusader screen then it crashes. Any help pls? I've done the UAC thingy already and it doesn't help.

I just uninstalled 6.3 and 6.4 and then reinstalled it. It is working for me now. That's the best suggestion I can give you.

I have this problem too. I have tried to reinstall, but it doesn't help. 6.3 works fine. Where did you install it, I have tried to install it out of program files when it's not working. When I install it to mods folder, it crashes when starting new campaign.

I guess this was the correct thread to be in. I've been having the same problem. I uninstalled everything on my pc related to MTW 2. Reinstalled everything, still no worky. I hope the upcoming RLC will work on 6.3 because, unless there is a miracle, I'm done trying. Oh, and my Britannia Campaign (Vanilla) is gone. Like it never existed.

did ya'll right click and run the .exe installer as a adminstrator? so right click, run as admin? if not, it still won't write the files correctly sometimes.

I'm totally having the same problem on win7 with the UAC stuff done. A tantalising glimpse of the crusader and spinny hourglass and then CTD with no error messages or nothing. 6.3 working.

Will try to reinstall 6.3 and 6.4 i suppose.

Questions: How do I uninstall 6.3 and 6.4? Will it revert to, like, 6.1 or something? Or get rid of SS altogether?

On positive note though I think SS is an extraordinary achievement made all the more amazing that fact that it's done for the love rather than the money. Willing to put up with a lot of complications for that.
