CTD when taking Appollonia

Hi I'm at the early point in my campaign. Crushed the rebellions and Carthage local to Rome I am fighting the Macedon and have just taken Appollonia when I select whichever option (occupy, enslave, depopulate) I get a CTD.

Any further information or assistance as to why?

There was a reinforcing army that attacked you, wasn't it?
That's an infamous RTW bug, called the reinforcement bug, which we can't do anything about.
You'll need to reload the save, and attack the city by yourself before the reinforcement army attack you, or destroy the reinforcement armies before they attack you.

Forgot to mention that. Yeah that was the case. ok, is this bug just in general or for Appollonia only? Is this just if I attack or they do because I was attacked by two enemies and had no crash in vanilla. If you could just help me understand how to avoid this in the future.
