Forgotten preferences

Has anyone else noticed that the preferences chosen when playing this game aren't saved and carried forward to the next?

I've tried using the Options menu on the start menu and within my current campaign, but no matter what I do when I reload the game they have reset and I have to start again. Just wondered if this is a known bug or something unique to my installation.

indeedy happens to all of us , I think AD might have posted a way of fixing this in a thread somewhere in this forum but I can't remeber where/when

Well I did search the forum for threads that mentoned 'preferences' but nothing notable came up, unless it had a really weird subject heading.

I forgot to mention that I included some extra preferences.

Add these to the [graphics] section for extra special effects:

thelittlesthobo=1
idontgiveaflyingfÜck=1
asquirrelpissedinit=1
microphonesareforgays=1

and my personal favourite
sh!toff=1
