Because of fantastic tv series of game of thornes (HBO) this mod is going to popular more than you can imagine.I think everybody who watch that series will make research about it and try to find a game then they will probably find this mod and scream "yeaa total war best suits it" but there is something important...

The other continents Dhotrakies and many other races in game should be included in your mod also just like Lotr mod uses mass amount of media from the movie now you have opinion to use it from the tv series and it would be great if you do it..

I will not just say do this do that...I would like to offer my help to you also.I am working as desinger for 8 years and I have worked in many mod projects as member and team leader too if any kind of refenrance is needed I can give too so if you guys need help about graphical desings and also map modding ( also a very old modder of MTW) just tell and lets make this mod even better...

What is your opinion guys are those other nations and continents is needed with a huge graphical improvement ?

i wathed at TV series and i like it so i do like you say lol search for a mod or something like that and found this todat i try it and it seems good but disapointing beacuse there are vanilla units...but from what i read next version would have new skins

The eastern continent might be added somewhen in the feature; But at the moment we are occupied with finishing the factions on the continent of westeros.

We don`t really need visual inspiration from the series, either, we rather follow the books and our own style.

I made a 5 min desing for your mod to expalin clearly what I meant about graphical improvements...

It is a 5 min work just to explain wait I said earlier so dont criticise it too harsh with time resarch learning the series and compastion of proper colors better things can be done...

Of course staying with the books is good idea too but many of your fans will be from series (they already begin to come soon this mod will be crowded with them) so just like lotr mod satisfys its fans with huge media from movie still I insist on the idea but of course its up to you to decide...

As for others, the outfits (Dale, Eriador, Dwarves..) had to be created from various more-or-less accurate fan- and game concept-arts.

In here, in other hand, we have quite accurate and detailed descriptions on what type armor troops use, what are the things to recognize (in)famed commanders on the field etc. in the books already. Of course, that does not say they shouldn't consider using some of HBO(-like) armours or outfits. But it's up to them if they go with "strict lore", HBO-inspired, or something between the two.. I'm satisfied when they get 1.0 out nonetheless.

After reading all of the posts I understand that the detalis in novels and other stuff is far more than Lotr series but a lot of people say that HBO did it better than my imagination...

So can we say that it would be better graphics with mixture of series and novels ?

Well, IMO, books is the way to go. I don't wanna see Lannister Spearmen sporting "Uruk-Hai" like helmets. The Lannisters in particular are weird-looking in HBO's adaptation, wearing armour that would most likely look better on Dornish Soldiers (Dorn is more Arabic-inspired IMO), same with the Golden Cloaks. Starks and Dothraki on the other hand, look better. Honestly, I prefer how armour is described in the books.

Yeah Visual art from the series could be good, but there is alrerady a Huge huge good "offcial" art stuff for GoT.

Like the card game.

So first, the best is to launch the 1.0 version with the basic graphic. After, fan could make Mod to improve graphics

I wouldn't worry about it, I doubt there's any chance of the team suddenly deciding to throw away a ton of work and start anew in terms of graphics.

As for me, the feature of this mod is not an armour or graphic stuff. There's an unique storyline, relations between factions and personalities - tangle of intrigue, injuries and ambitious plans. So, first of all, this mod needs diplomacy and scripts. And victory conditions. I'd play it even with vanilla units - I rarely see their armour during the battle.

you're right, the series does bring more people to the mod. I agree some armor of the series could be used in the mod (but not the lannisters they look weird), but the bartheon men and the men of the vale look decent enough I think.

I suggest the team uses the actors of the series for the portraits of the characters. Most of them fit perfectly i think, especially Jaime and Tywin Lannister.

I like Jaime in the series much more than the portrait used in the alpha but I like the grim looking sideburn wearing bald Tywin from the alpha more than the HBO Tywin, while he does a great job portraying Tywin. However, I feel that mixing drawings and screenshots of the series would look odd.

in the third age mod it doesn't look odd.

@lordiq: you don't have to use all the actors, but it would make the mod more familiar for the people who have only seen the series. Strangely enough, as i'm rereading the books now i picture every character as how they look in the series.
Using some things form the series makes the mod more popular and creates a larger fanbase imo.

As far as I recall, all portraits of characthers in TATW are from the movies, or famous actors heads photoshopped into armour etc

I agree with your point, and it could indeed be done as in TATW, with an little extra work, and I wouldn't mind having the HBO actors as WIP portraits. However, the problem is that there are many noticable characters that have not been cast or shown yet, which would make it... Half work done, if you get my meaning? I'd rather wait to change the portraits to those of the actors until more characters have been revealed, such as Edmure Tully, Stannis, The Onion Knight, The Martells etc... Or as always, people can submod it themselves if they feel like it.
