    Default How much Rebels are hardcoded?

    One of my comrade has bring something interesting Here and I was wondering how much the Rebels faction is hardcoded(you know the gray slave faction that nobody cares).

    My questions:
    • Can we unable the Rebels alliance? (So you can ally with them along the other factions)
    • Can we make trade rights with Rebels?
    • Can we do ransom with captured rebels? (I've already saw that before).
    • Can we unable them so princess can marry their generals? (I've already saw that before as well).
    • Can we add a sort of family tree to them? For each independent faction?

    All your questions can be answered with yes, with exception of the ransom issue - I am not sure about that one.

    1. alliance - change the 'diplomacy' entries in descr_strat
    2. trade - same
    3. ransom - not sure if thatis linked to the stance as well.
    4. princess - set the entry in descr_sm_faction to yes and then add a princess in descr_model_strat and descr_characters (might not work due to the special faction attribute)
    5. family tree - set the entry in descr_sm_faction to yes (might not work due to the special faction attribute)

    Sweet, now the rebels will be much more interesting to deal with. And I bet I need to play with the CAI to make the rebels to act more than just staying where they are and making them evolving their settlements, boosting their economy, recruiting units and agents?

    I would think so, although they do develop their settlements if given enough money. It is also a matter of how many rebel regions exist at the start of play - the more regions the thinner spread the available money at the beginning until economy buildings boost the income.

    how many different rebel coat-of-arms in the banners of the rebel armies are allowed???

    As many as there are cultures. The rebel faction symbols orientate themselves at the culture of the region they spawn in. This is not apparent in the normal game as all the symbols are the same in the data\banner\symbolxx.tga files - simply change a few and you will see the result.
    For reference check in descr_cultures the rebel index number.

    is it somehow possible to make peace with the rebels during the game or trade with them. If I send a diplomat to the rebels, then there is only the option "Bribe"

    See post #2, although there remains the possibility that it simply isn't possible due to the special faction setting.
