multiplayer battle help?
My friend and I have played CoW multiplayer once, but every time we have tried since the game shows up as incompatible (in red). I dont understand why it worked the first time, but then not the second. Anyone have any ideas?
Thank you in advance for any help

Re: multiplayer battle help?
You must have different download versions. That's the only possible explanation. That or one of you has a sub-mod that the other one doesn't.

Re: multiplayer battle help?
Are your versions of Medieval II/Kingdoms the same? (Kingdoms should be v1.5 for both of you.)
It could also be network interference, such as a firewall or security software. Try disabling any firewalls, Anti-Virus, or program that could be interfering with the network.

Re: multiplayer battle help?
Ok, so heres the new problem we are encountering. My friend uninstalled medieval 2 and kingdoms from steam, and completely deleted the Medieval 2 folder (clean uninstall). Hey then reinstalled the game and downloaded CoW 1.4.4 clean install. At first when he logged onto medieval 2 he was able to go into the multiplayer lobby and there were several games/players/etc. From there he went into kingdoms 1.5 and multiplayer all seemed good there as well. He went into CoW multiplayer and he saw a bunch of game (obviously incompatable), but at least the games were there. While he waited for me to login, he played a few turns of his campaign. When I got online, he logged back into multiplayer, but when he got to the lobby there were NO games whatsoever, no players, and when he tried to click on "refresh game list" it just gave him a red X and wouldnt let him. I have never experienced this problem on my system so I have no idea what the problem might be. Also, the same thing happened when he logged into medieval 2 and kingdoms, Nothing in the lobby board.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be. He is running the game through steam and we have already got the Kingdoms mod manager thingy that is supposed to be used to get mods to run correctly through steam. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Try disabling Windows Firewall, as that has given me issues in the past; as well as any additional programs such as Norton that have their own firewalls.
It's a long shot, but if the above suggestion doesn't work give this a try: http://www.multimolti.com/blog/2010/...ltiplayer-fix/
