    Default Europa Barbarorum Installation

If you're going EB you'd better start your download now, those of you with it installed make sure it's a clean one, just 1.1, 1.2 and the fixes.

Get version 1.1 full installer, then the 1.2 patch then the 3 fixes.

    Main installer and Patch:

    http://www.europabarbarorum.com/downloads_mod.html

Check the install path on 1.2 before clicking next, there will be a message in brackets that you will have to delete after choosing the path, not before.

    Fixes:

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=208081

The FTP links work nice, if you have performance issues on the campaign map you can switch the sea graphics back to vanilla here:
    http://www.europabarbarorum.com/downloads_misc.html

I would also recommend taking a look at the still relevant Romani build tree while you're waiting, the rest are included with the download. Romani tree can be found here:
    http://www.europabarbarorum.com/webf...omani_v0.4.pdf

Here's the units, better to know them now so you aren't confused about their names later :
    http://www.europabarbarorum.com/fact...ani_units.html

For RP purposes, here is how we can get reforms early or something. I believe it still works, the thread can be found here:
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showp...65&postcount=4

Also, remember, we do not use Denarii in this mod for dealing with other factions or buildings, the monetary system is explained here:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    Q: What are mnai?
A: In EB the Rome TW currency Denarii is replaced by the more historically accurate mnai or minae. A mnai is 1/60 of a talent (Greek: talanton). The talent was once a Babylonian weight unit, and varied much over time and in the places it was used. In the 3rd century BC contracts between Rome and Qart Hadasht, the Attic/Euböic talent is used, which amounted approximately 27 kg. During the EB time-frame there were two major types of currency systems in use in the Mediterranean region:

    Attic
    6 obols = 1 drachma
    100 drachmae = 1 mnai
    60 mnai = 1 Talent

    Qart Hadasht / Ptolemaic Egypt
    60 shiqlu = 1 mnai
    60 mnai = 1 Talent

    Pahlav: Reformed Government

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The Pahlav reform isn't like the other reforms. Pahlav has a "reformed" government building that it build-able in Iran/Persia. Once you build up the infrastructure of the town, you are able to upgrade your nomadic government and reform your control of the region.

    Other Reforms:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
All other factional reform units are tied to the "March or Time" event (Vanilla Marian Reform) which requires the Romans to build a huge city in central Italy to trigger. This is just an arbitrary time delay.

Last Tip: The rebel faction in EB is very strong, They represent factions that did not get into the game so for the most part taking these cities will be difficult and each area of rebels should be treated as another faction, and the fame for fighting them should be the same as any others. For example, some of the best troops in the entire game are in a rebel city to the North of Rome at the start.

Its funny how its not!!! But that is your op, here is mine...
RS2 is ok at game start, and the multiple legions thing is cool, but as you get into the game, you just end up with huge superpowers that chuck massive stacks against you continuasly, its rediculous. EB is not like this, although it is slower, i think it overall ends up a better game

Just checking in, got EB working haven't done the fixes yet, I assume that they're essential.
When I attempted to extract them it offered to merge the "script" folder with the one that was already there, I didn't to do that until checking here but I assume that it is a yes?

Ah just about the installation, are we looking at using the RS2 battlemap environments? or at least the "get rid of giant trees" fix? otherwise it will get really annoying fighting in germania

I see no point in using them, hard enough for some people to get vanilla with the fixes working it seems .

It should be really annoying fighting in Germania. Also, being from California, I don't mind the "Giant California Redwoods" as they call them . Bring the camera down, supposed to be hard fighting in a forest, have a defending flank and control the other, use AI control groups, etc...

Alrighty then, just dont count on my character fighting in those forests, im a bit like Varus in that respect haha
It is just a drag and drop thing, i dont know how you could stuff that up too much...
If anyone did want to look at it though, here it is http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=415513
