custom siege battle - unspecified error

Hello everyone. 1. Im using win7 64 and STEAM version of the game. I tried 3 different downloads of this mod two was on parts(last one from Holy pilgrims megaupload link) and one from torrent.

i done everything that:

1) Disable UAC and other things if you are Win 7 or Vista user DONE
2) Run installer and game as administrator, it is absolutely necessary DONE
3) delete all map.rwm files from data\world\maps\ - DONE 2 files (i dont have any previous version just full 1.4.4)

4) delete strings.bin files from data\text\ folder - YES deleted 30 files

After install 1.4/4
1) delete folder BETTER_WATER and files descr_water, descr_water_effects, descr_water_interaction_effects - DONE
2) delete Call_of_Warhammer\data\world\maps\base folder DONE
3) Copypast this file to your 144 data folder http://www.twcenter.net/forums/attac...6&d=1298446255 DONE
4) Delete folders DONE
data/siege_engines/textures/faction_variations
data/siege_engines/textures/winter
data/siege_engines/textures/variations

And now to my problem

After i start custom battle and a click on level of settlement setting (it doesnt matter which one or which map) after click i get unspecified error message. I know there was a advice with sieging settlements how to do it..but is not work for me. Because i dont have a option to choose culture of settlement before i dont choose level of settlement.

There is another minor problem not very important...but anyway....if i am in in single player call of warhammer campaign window where i choosing the nation...and i click back to custom battle....and then back to start campaign the game will crash.

I very like this mod. I amazing how detailed models you can made. If these would be a normal game...with no crash bugs of course i would be one of first how can buy it because i love total war..a i love warhammer.

But the CTD and all people on these forum that have problems with campaign....i have fear to start campaign that i wont be able to play to end

I hope someone will help me with my siege problem....custom battles are awesome..but i wanna finally with skeleton army conquer some empire castle

This is a common problem, and there is no foreseeable solution. There is although a work-around:

1: Click on the settlement tab and choose fort.
2: then pick which culture (if empire choose something else and then choose empire again).
3: After you choose the culture the settlement should reset.
4: choose the settlement size!

EDIT: Also, you are not alone with the 'choose campaign and then switch to custom and crashes' problem, it happens to me as well and I do not believe there is a solution to it as well. So my suggestion would be to stick with one mode or the other each time you boot up the mod, yes I know its a bit annoying but thats the only thing i can think of.
