    Default G5 setup problems.

Hello, I receive the following error when I try to apply the 'ReallyBadAI for misc. mods' towards Call of Warhammer:

"Error while processing RallyBadAI_universal.txt, File_Call_of Warhammer\data\battle_config.xml does not contain: <unit-tasks>
    Operation aborted.

I'm sure the solution is easy, this thread could be a help thread to increase its usefulness.

    Edit: WHOOPS, wrong forum

This is because CoW battle_config.xml uses non-standard formatting, to fix it (temporarily, before CoW-specific integration is done):

Apply AI (error pops up), then go to ReallyBadAI installation directory (typically mods folder) and find g5\files\ReallyBadAI_Universal\battle_config.xml and copy it to CoW data folder.

So a specific version will be released for CoW for sure? Because, damn, that AI needs some tweaks.

Because then I'd rather wait for the official release.

There'll be a release, it won't be official, but it'll be verified in terms of correct implementation by me.

    @Jorge Juan

Unfortunately I don't own a steam version of MTW, judging by how\where Steam installs games it's a matter of file protection (by UAC and maybe Steam itself).

Can you tell where your MTW files are and where you installed RBAI? Maybe this'll help, also there are some guides on how to make mods install properly with Steam, you should be able to verify some installation issues with their help.

Normally I'd as you to upload mod files for me, but since they're original versions, this'd be violation of forum rules.

    EDIT :
This should work - run the Setup file and game as admin:
Right-click mod\RBAI setup icon, choose Properties, choose Shortcut tab, click Advanced, tick "Run as administrator", then click "ok".

    @good4el

You need to copy battle_config.xml from mods\g5\files\ReallyBadAI_Crusades to mods\crusade\data\.

Hmm... There are several errors what appear after tick options in "g5_setup" window in any crusade folder.

    What I did? See next

    As you said
    copy battle_config.xml from mods\g5\files\ReallyBadAI_Crusades to mods\crusade\data\.
I copy that "battle_config.xml" from "mods\g5\files\ReallyBadAI_Crusades" and overwrite same file in "mods\crusade\data" directory.
    Attachment 167733

    Then I launch "g5_setup" file
    Attachment 167741

After that I tick first option "Crusades - ReallyBadAI v5.0" and click "ok". I take to main "g5_setup" window(abbreviated MW) with mods. Nothing wrong(see why next).
    Attachment 167732Attachment 167735

Next I choose again "crusades" folder and there tick on a "ReallyBadAI for misc. mods" and click on a "ok" and take to MW and get an error
    Attachment 167731

After I click on a "ok" and choose again "crusade" folder, see that two options are ticked and tick last what is "ReallyBadAI Hardcore addon" and suddenly screen freezes and I get a message "G5 sub-manager does not work"
    Attachment 167737

I click on a "Close program" and "g5_setup" window disappearing.

If I after that go again to "crusades" folder and tick "ReallyBadAI Hardcore addon" I'll get an error. Click on a "ok" take me to MW and if I go again in "crusades" folder there are will be all options ticked and click on a "ok" will get same error
    Attachment 167738

Next If I disactivate all options and click on a "ok" all will fine without freezes and errors.

But if you try to choose the second and third options are the following error

Try a different sequence of elections and you will get freezes and different errors. For example if you immediately choose only "ReallyBadAI Hardcore addon" option it will get an error
    Attachment 167740

And I also tried for this case
Apply AI (error pops up), then go to ReallyBadAI installation directory (typically mods folder) and find g5\files\ReallyBadAI_Universal\battle_config.xml and copy it to CoW data folder.
    And got the same results.

If you try to activate all options or just two of them does not matter in what order you will get same error as this

I ticked first and third options and there was no error after chosen. Then I tried two fast battles and did not notice any changes especially before battle when put units. Does "g5_setup" window must be open when you load a mod? Every time before ticking options should I copy "battle_config.xml" to "\mods\Holy_land\data\" folder?

You shouldn't tick first two options, it's either ReallyBadAI for crusades or for misc. mods, never both.

You should copy battle_config.xml after getting the error, not before (although it doesn't make a difference anyway). You'll keep having these errors due to different formatting of my and vanilla xml files.

There's no need to keep setup window open etc, custom battle scripting works only for first battle played (due to configuration limitations), if you applied hardcore version it directly results in losing control over your units for 30 seconds after you order them to attack enemy (this is a good way to verify installation).

ReallyBadAI Hardcore isn't standalone and works only as addon, so you will get errors when trying to apply it without installing main RBAI first.
