Stainless Steel 6.4 CTD

Hi folks,

I recently bought a new high-end computer, but I'm having trouble to run Stainless Steel on it as I sometimes get CTD AFTER I have won the battle, right after the stats pop up. It may be more frequent on maps that have more details, such as in open terrain with a lot of forest or in a big city.

I make sure that I run stainless steel 6.4 as administrator.

I have added the "system.log" and hopefully some of you may be able to help me in the right direction as it's pretty devastating to CTD.

are you using reallybadai by chance?

and did you update your drivers or no?

Hi!

I'm running standalone stainless steel, early campaign 6.4 with no submods installed (except BGR2, permanent arrows, permanent watchtowers and gracul AI that you can chose in the launch menu).

I have updated the drivers on my graphic card (GTX 580) and do not have any other issues with other games such as Crysis2, Bad Company 2 or Bulletstorm that are some of the latest games that I don't have any problems with.

trying rolling the driver back...ss and kingdoms is an older game...might be a conflict.

I might as well give that a shot, however I thought the system.log could reveal what I have trouble with. It appear that there is a problem with campaign_script.txt or something?!

hmmm must of looked at the wrong one...i'll look again..,..and report back

Good news.

I decided to reinstall everything from scratch as I did not disable UAC when I previously installed it. I started a new campaign and no CTDs for several hours! Hopefully I have sorted it out now!

Hey how did you get it to work? In my case, I installed everything in a different directory. 6.3 works fine for me, but when I install 6.4 and try to run it, it loads for 3 seconds then crashes to desktop. What should I do? My UAC was also disabled through the entire installation process.
