The photo shown was obviously taken long before he married the Queen (1947) at the time he was plain old Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark. One of his sisters, Sophia, married Prince Christophe of Hesse who rose to become the head of Luftwaffe intelligence and was very close to Goering.

Maybe you forget that Nazi Germany was a legitimate Nation before WWII and the Holocaust wasn't known until later. Its called International Trade and every democratic country has companies that do it today even with brutal regimes

This is more of a 'shocking' thing to me, and it hardly makes me think negatively (More or less, Rumsfeld did that for me in the modern era ). All it is, is the American Administration being friendly with someone who was opposing a common foe. We've done that all over the world, just like other nations have. Heck, I think it's a bit more galling in this example because its not an ancestor of our current president, but a member of our administration at the time, possibly representing our government. There isn't much reason to hold peoples ancestors to their actions, unless it has a direct link with the current individual your talking about.

People change. Nation's change. Sometimes one enemy seems better than another enemy (Why we cozied up with the Soviets, when they would become the boogyman of the West for half a century).
