Wouldn't it make more sense to start a poll "I'm a man" vs "I'm a woman"?
Not that that would provide reliable results, but more reliable than starting a poll on other peoples' guesses, which is like meta-unreliable.

Reasonable guess: probably ~4%, so 1/25. I've met several in Rome multiplayer and heard some on TeamSpeak.

I've only ran into about 5 in Shogun 2 so far, the problems being the lobby and community aren't too cohesive.

Probably less than the amount pretending to be female, for various reasons...

This is going to turn into one of those threads. So much to off-topic into.

    Do females play video games?
    How many females are fakes?
Why do they hide their ID?
What kinds of games do they play?
Why do they play those games?
    Does sex determine ability?
    Why don't more play?
    How... what... who... when...

Then a bunch of slandering between the posts...

Probably better to lock it now.

Barbie in a really nice yellow, black, and Lavender Kamakura-era oyoroi . That would be great. Actually that is how the Daimyo of Oda clan in STW2 is dressed up. Except he doesn't look like Barbie. So install AUM-Sho and give him an Onni Bushi infantry guard. And there you have it ; Barbie AND toy soldiers.
But then they have always seemed like the same thing to me.
I never do know what this is about.

Well, RTS is the "Magic the Gathering" of video games. Tournaments are a bunch of sweaty male nerds in a hot room.

I'd say about 1% of the Total War players are girls. I know some female gamers but VERY FEW care for real time and strategy war games.
Most girls play MMO's, I think in WoW about 15-20% are female.

Isn't this poll on the multi-player section as well? I'm starting to believe you're looking for a date mate.

those are really interesting questions, kitty

    Do females play video games?

    yes they do for sure

    How many females are fakes?

id say 50% of all who make their sex public

Why do they hide their ID?

to avoid email spam of willing men, they prefer to choose secretly

What kinds of games do they play?

    the sims

Why do they play those games?

at least becoming a virtual princess might come true

    Does sex determine ability?

yea, i guess micro is fantastic. most girls are awesome at multitasking and homework

    Why don't more play?

they play a lot when alone at home, when boyfriend/husband is around complaining brings more fun

I wonder if guys on the Hello Kitty forum pretend to be girls for the very same reason?

I used to play RPG's like Final Fantasy, back when they were good. I thought simulation games became boring when Maxis ruined their franchise after SimCity 4. Then I turned to RTS and Total War. Yeah, that's about all the video game experience I have...

Many females like games such as The Sims and SimCity - games about constructing and then nuturing something. Its inherant in their phsycology after all biologically they are "designed" to care for young and to nurture it into adulthood. It corresponds to young girls' attraction to baby dolls too. This nurture is carried through in Roleplay games (such as Final Fantasy I guess) where the building and nurturing a character through the story.

Another influence I believe is their compulsive drive impress males with their appearence - its natural, the trait is "designed" so that they can attract the "best" male mate possible (its all about Natural Selection). Hence they might show interest in experimenting with appearances - especially in games such as The Sims.

Where Total War comes into check I'm not sure. I mean, the female species is not robotically programmed to only work in a certain way - every woman is different; has different genes, and that's why we find some spill over into other games which wouldn't attract the majority of female gamers - perhaps that's our only explanation for females in Total War, although, we are seeing elements of nurture and superficialty in the recent Shogun 2 innovation (Avatar customisation, army customisation etc) - perhaps there will be a lot more female Total War players in future.

I don't know if you've heard of CitiesXL : http://www2.citiesxl.com/ , its an up and coming City-building franchise which is looking like taking the place of the SimCity series. Check it out - but don't let it lure you away from Total War!
